HELP!!! DD saying her "pee pee" hurts!!!

She won't let me look at it, I'm here alone and her pedi is closed. I don't know what to do for her.

She's very articulate and has said 3 times since we have been home that it is hurting her. I asked her if she wanted to go potty and she said that makes it hurt more.

DH will be home soon so I'm thinking of having him help me look at her... maybe I'm the weirdo, but is it wrong to have him hold her legs open so I can take a look? She won't let me near her and this is going to be a 2 man job... I just don't want to tramatize her! I need to see what it looks like so I can call the on-call line if needed.

Any advice??

Maybe ask her if a bath will help? ?Maybe some cranberry juice?

You might even want to consider taking her to urgent care. ?UTIs can really be painful. ?

Your daughter is telling you she's in pain.  Just call the on-call people and let them know what she's telling you.  See what they say.  If they ask what it looks like, tell them you don't know, she won't let you look.

sounds like a UTI to me! i would take her to urgent care. they're very painful and can progress quickly sometimes.

Sounds like a UTI. Go to a dr asap. My DD just had a UTI and it was not fun. She is younger and could not tell me it was hurting, however I knew something wasn't right. Once she was on meds she was much better! GL!

I would just take her to urgent care.  I wouldn't bother examining her, it won't tell you if she has a UTI or not.  A urine test is usually done.

I used to get uti s a lot for some reason, and the only thing that made the pain stop fast was some baking soda and water ( there should be a recipe on the box of arm and hammer for indigestion, and that is what I used.

it tastes bad, but holy smokes it works FAST.

and safe.

just don't give her too much ( I wish I could tell you how much is too much, but maybe the urgent care line can?)
