Hey ladies! Just got back from the pediatrician because DS has had a fever since Sunday that goes up and goes down. No sign of an ear infection, his throat is a little red though. She did a CBC and he is fighting something viral for sure. She said to keep an eye out for a rash appearing after the fever goes away.
If your child had Roseola how long after the fever did the rash appear?
I read online that usually Roseola comes after a high fever of 103+, DS's fever has only gone as high as 102, but that's when I've checked it, I'm sure it could have gone higher. How high was your child's fever?
Re: Anyone have experience with Roseola?
My daughter (and our next door neighbor's daughetr who is the same age) got Roseola a few months back. The fever got very high 104.5 but she was in fairly good spirits.
The rash began to appear the day the fever broke. The next day teh rash was much more pronounced. Roseola really looks liek someone took a red ball point pin and made little dots all over. The rash lasted a few days and that was it.
HTH!

My son's fever was 105.6 (we went to the ER right away).
He had an ear infection, but couldn't find anything else wrong with him.
The next day he got the rash, so I knew he had Roseola. The fever was only that high for one day and the rash lasted for two.
DD had Rosela last this past summer. High fever and clingy but not overly miserable. The rash came the day after the fever broke. She looked like a hot mess but it cleared up quickly.
