Hi

I saw your post in the "When did your child walk" poll and I wanted to make sure you saw my response. Kate did not walk until 4 days before she turned 18 months old. No standing alone, no independent steps, nothing. She crawled and cruised, but that was it. Then, one day out of the clear blue, she took 4-5 steps between me and the couch. The next day she was walking all around the house. The day after that she could stand up in the middle of the room, stoop and recover, etc. She learned to stand, walk, and practically run in ONE DAY. She never really had that struggling, or a few steps here, few steps there. Once she started, she was steady pretty much immediately. Now at 19.5 months, you would NEVER know she was a "late" walker. She walks just like any other kid, runs, climbs, etc. I know it is a long wait, but hopefully it helps to hear from someone whose kid wasn't walking at 9 months like most of the people who responded to that poll
