Centering Pregnancy appointments?

My midwife group is offering Centering Pregnancy appointments to replace the usual 15 minute pop-in appointments.

Basically, you meet with a group of other expectant moms who are due about the same time, and for about 1 hour you do the usual weigh-in, blood pressure, measure stuff..then you have topic discussions and guest speakers and eventually do fieldtrips to the hospital etc...

I'm thinking I might try it as my so-called 15 minute appointment was more like 3 minutes with 12 minutes of waiting. It was very unfulfilling. 

Is anyone else doing Centering Pregnancy?

Never heard of this but it sounds interesting. I used to work in an outpatient program in a hospital and we did mostly group-setting stuff and they seemed to learn as much or more from the people around them as they would have from their docs sometimes. ?

that sounds kinda fun. I've never heard of it before, but I like the idea of it. Great way for new moms to connect.

I haven't heard of that before, but it's totally something I'd do, I'll have to see if there's anything like that in my area.
