time limit for deleting posts?

OK... so in a post below, I accidentally double posted.  So I went to delete it, like 10 seconds aftert it double posted.  And I got this:

 

The administrator(s) have configured this forum to have a time limit for deleting messages. If you still require a message to be deleted, please check with a forum moderator.

 

WTF?  we can't delete when we want to????

I know, they completely took away the deleting option...   there isnt even a time limit (unless its like 1 second)  I've tried to delete before and it didn't work even though it was right after I hit post.

that makes no sense. why would they care if we wanted to delete something?

I have no idea... The same reason they care how many times we edit something I suppose...

I agree its completely LAME!!!  and why do we have to give a reason for editing??

I'm going to start editing everything and leaving ridiculous reasons.

The Nest/Bump has strange rules. I don't give a reason when I edit. I just leave the reason blank. LOL at giving odd reasons though!

You can delete after a certain smt of time - I did it the other day. I don't know what the time limit is though
