AW: I am such a bargain hunter!

Every year it gets harder and harder to buy for DH. He's one to just buy whatever he wants/needs. Plus, he hates surprises, is always exceedingly impatient to find out what he's getting for Christmas, and usually manages to figure out what his gifts are. So annoying! Oh, and he has really, really, really expensive taste, so it's always hard to buy for him because he'll want like $600 worth of stuff! This is a guy, BTW, who grew up and a 3 bedroom house with 5 kids and parents who never had enough money to even pay their bills on time. Why he expects to get such expensive stuff these days is beyond me! So anyway, I've been plotting his gifts for months (literally) and have managed to get some killer deals...I got him like $500 worth of stuff for about $200! Yahoo! I got him:

1. A pair of shoes he's been wanting that I've refused to let him get because they retail for $140. My brother manages a shoe store, though, and they put the shoes on sale a few weeks ago and that plus his discount got them for $70!

2. A PS3 blu ray remote, on sale for $20

3. Transformers blu ray DVD, on sale for $10

4. A new softball bat. A freaking expensive softball bat. Like a $280 bat. ::sigh:: My DH and his toys, I swear. But I got the bat for 20% off and used $100 that my bank gave me when I opened a new account recently, so it only cost me about $125 out of pocket.

He'd better be freakin' surprised on Christmas morning!

Wow! You are a good deal hunter! Haha!

I'm in the same boat as you, so each year I listen for things he says he needs but then forgets. Haha! Or if he mentions things in like September, I'll say, please don't buy that or I won't have anything to get you for Xmas. This year I was still out of luck so he finally said he needed some more power tools last night. I probably won't find any deals, but oh well, at least he'll have something besides hair clippers under the tree!
