Telling work

Ok, so I still havent told work yet and I am 21 almost 22 weeks.  Its getting really hard to hide it now.  I was planning on waiting until after the first of the year because I work in the title industry and we have had a lot of layoffs.  I was thinking that maybe I might tell them the week of Christmas though.  I dont really know.  My friend that use to work here, was laid off when she was 8 months pregnant and I am fearful of the same happening to me.

    I haven't told work either, but just because I don't want to be bothered. I don't know how small you are, but I'm sure at 21 wks someone is noticing. Just suck it up and tell them, they shouldn't lay you off now, if they didn't before. GL!

    It sounds like you have every right to be fearful...I can't believe they did that to a PG woman. I dunno what to do... You know... you could always just never tell them. tee hee. That would be fun. It's none of their business anyway right? I kid, I kid. But seriously.... I hope someone has a good response, because I just dunno.

    Hm well it is up to you when you tell them! They will find out eventually.. maybe they even already kinda know? I haven't told my work yet either..I'm dreading it. I also plan to wait until I absolutely cannot hide it anymore. I orginally was thinking right before our xmas break.. but I think I will be able to hide it longer so now I think I'm shooting for Jan :)

    I don't know why everyone is so scared to tell their works.  There is no reason to be nervous.  I have never heard a story on here about a boss that was pissed because someone was pregnant.  I think almost every story I've heard were of bosses being excited and congratulatory.  My boss definitely was.  This is your life and you have a right to get pregnant.  They don't and can't control you.  And you shouldn't let them.  Just tell them, nonapologetically, that you are pregnant.  It's much less stressful once you get it over with.
