Did anyone start choosing their baby's godparents already?

I came to my final decision today. I am going to choose my cousin & his girlfriend they are responsible & trustworthy enough for the position. I originally had my best friend in mind but his life has been going downhill & Iwould be really crazy to trust my child over there.

 

Ps: Did you & your partner choose 2 each, so that you were both satisfied or just two godparents?

They are going to be my sister and dh's brother (but my sister will get custody if something should happen to us).  We're only having the 2.  Others will be reserved for future kids.

We have. We plan on asking SIL and BIL to be DD#2's godparents the next time we see them (which will probably be around Christmas). We picked one set.

Just 2, DH's sister and my brother. It made it easy!

We just chose one couple. We actually had them picked out before we had kids.

Then again, my DD is 2 and we still haven't asked them to be the godparents. We're kinda skeerd! LOL

This first baby was easy... my sister and DH's brother, also our honor attendants at our wedding. Next one will be easy too (DH's sister and my male best friend). Beyond that, I'm scared to think I have to choose... there is such a thing as having too many good friends!!!

I have one sister and I am godparent for both her kids and never considered anyone else!  DH has one sister that is out of college and lives a real life (not a dillusional child still) so for us it was pretty simple!

We picked DH's sister and BIL.  They are very excited!

We are just having 2.  DH wants it to be a couple but I don't think it has to be.  We don't have sisters so I would like one of my bridesmaids and then probably one of his brothers or good guy friends.

We have a really hard time with this since we're Catholic but most of our friends are not and our priest is kind of a stickler about it.  We have godparents for our daughter but I don't know what we're going to do for Baby #2.

We picked ours, My sister and my cousin.  DH's family is not religious and he is not close to his brother.  If anything were to happen to us, my parents would take get custody the baby though, my sister is only 20 and my cousin 22, so it would be my parents first.  We are looking at the godparent thing right now in the religious aspect and as time goes by we will change the custody to my sister if something were to happen to us.

We have chosen DH's brother as the godfather, but still unsure on the Godmother. Neither of us have sisters or sister in laws. We aren't close to cousins yet or have friends close enough. For DS we chose my brother and my closest girl friend.

Easy decision for us.  We actually just talked about this the other day.  It will be my sister and DH's oldest brother.

My brother and DH's sister will be the Godparent. We haven't decided on guardians yet though.

We are also Catholic and don't have many Catholic friends. We're hoping that my youngest SIL's boyfriend proposes before we baptize the baby so that we can ask them. We think they'd be great, but my DH doesn't want to ask them unless they've taken that next step.
