DS has been eating purees for a month or so now and doing great. I give him veggie and cereal with fruit at night. When should I add another feeding of solids? 8 months? 7 Months? When he seems more hungry? DH gets him ready in the morning and drops him off at daycare for the day and could feed him soids in the morning. I just have no idea when to add a second feeding.

Re: When do you give more food to baby!
Whenever you feel like it. There's no right or wrong answer. I think we started doing it when it felt like it wouldn't be a huge bother and mess.
Have you started trying him with finger foods?

We put Cheerios down for Lennon before he eats at night and he's managed to get one in his mouth - and a couple we have gave to him - mostly he pushes them off the table.
We try to give Lennon food in the morning and at night - I guess now I'll have more time to make sure that happens. He's just been getting one new food each week at night and then cereal in the am if we get to it.
If he still gags a lot, I wouldn't push it with too much more yet... in a few weeks maybe start letting him play with cereal like cheerios - look at all the ingredients though to make sure you're ok with them. I knwo I started with Annie's Bunny Love cereal, which is like cheerios, but didn't have wheat, and I was waiting on wheat. They're also sweet and Ben loved them!
You'll find that solids are MUCH easier and more fun when they can feed themselves. So give him opportunities to start doing some of it himself. Those purees were so messy, I hated feeding Ben when he ate those. Luckily, I didn't start til 6 1/2 months, and it wasn't long before he was picking stuff up on his own to eat... I don't remember exactly, but it seemed pertty quick... Plus he always liked to put the spoon in his mouth himself. From the first day I gave him food he did it. So he got good at that quickly too.
