I have noticed this week that I get moments where I feel like my entire belly is moving around on the inside and not the outside. It is the weirdest feeling. Are those hiccups? What do hiccups feel like?
They feel a lot like kicks, only you get them every few seconds. If your whole belly feels like it's moving, you could be feeling the baby actually moving around, vs. just a kick here and there.
I think it's one of those things where you just know - especially as your pregnancy progresses and you recognize that they feel different than anything else. But in my experience, it is more localized - not something you feel across your entire belly. Also, hiccups come and go, and you generally know when baby is awake and active because you feel other movements at the same time as the hiccups. Hope that helps - it's hard to explain!

so, then what I have been thinking is kicking that I feel really low might actually be hiccups? Happens at least once a day and I totally thought baby girl was just kicking me repeatedly in what feels like my cervix. Weird...and why won't she move UP!!!?
Baby hiccups are exactly what you would get. They feel kind of like kicks, but every few seconds for a period of time. DD would get them all the time. You can even see your belly jumping when they do it.
It's a repetitive, rhythmic tapping and if the baby's head down then you usually feel it really low...sometimes even in your butt! Sorry, TMI but that's pregnancy for ya! You'll definitely know it when he/she gets them. DS got them alllll the time. This baby gets them at least once a day.
Re: What do hiccups feel like?
Thanks! I am still waiting for the good hard kicks. I haven't gotten any or at least I don't think I have. This is such foreign territory to me.

DD#1 had hiccups all the time and the best way I can describe it is like how a heartbeat feels....kind of rythmatic and a thump, thump, thump pattern
DD#2 has not had any that I have felt so far.
I was curious about this too. When my mom was pregnant with my sibilings she would always hold her belly and say "the baby has hiccups".
Since I've started feeling the baby move, I been trying to figure this out.
