i'm seeing all these posts about having the flu, and last year i use to log onto a map that showed the level of outbreak status for each state, but i'm not finding it this year. the one i'm seeing shows no outbreaks across the country...
anyone know of a place for this nerd to look?
Re: flu outbreak
I don't know about that map... but if you find it I'd love to see it!
I had something really bad about two weeks ago that had me sleeping by the toilet for a night. It was NOT pretty. I couldn't keep anything in... it was coming out both ends (TMI) and then the next day and a couple days later I had some spotting! Doc said it was just from vomiting so much! Luckily it was over within 24 hours. My heart goes out to anyone that gets that one! It is definitely the sickest I have been in years!
thanks belle15!

Oh dear. Influenza is a respiratory virus. "Stomach flu" is a grand misnomer. There is no such thing. You did not have the flu. You had a GI virus.
If you had the flu you would have intense body aches, head and chest symptoms, fever, fatigue, etc. You would feel like you could not get up out of bed like you were literally going to die.
Please straighten this out in your mind because it leads to all sorts of confusion (vaccine issues etc.)
Ditto! Very few people have actually had the flu! So all these people get vaccinated against the flu, then get a stomach bug and think the vaccine didn't work. They are not the same thing! The flu vaccine will not prevent you from getting the "stomach bug" or what most people refer to as the flu.
