so we live in the chicago land area. my mom is 64 and lives at home with my sister who has disablities. my mom thinks she can still do everything, but she is getting up there in age and I get worried about her.
i was thinking about setting up snow removal service for her as a xmas gift. do you think that is a bad gift? they would come out every time there is at least 2 inches of snow and remove snow and salt the driveway, sidewalks and porch area, even clean off her car.
opinions appreciated.
Re: xmas gift for mom-wdyt
That is awesome.... my mom is the same "I can do everything myself" way and the ONLY way that she's ever going to get any sort of service like that is from a gift. For example, my dad's been suggesting a cleaning lady for ages, but Mom has been resisting.... I'm thinking about getting her a couple of Merry Maids sessions like a "treat" but I think (hope) that she'll continue it afterwards.
Hey, it worked with Netflix last year. She resisted and resisted, but now that she's been doing it for a year, she's going to renew on her own.
i just called a bunch of landscape companys...bet they do it in denver too
yeah, they offered to do that...but my mom keeps her car in the garage so I don't think it is necessary
yeah, we are....but that would be her big gift
me to ...stealing idea for next year!!
