Re: When did DC start teething???

  • Should you be worried?  No.  Some babies don't get their first tooth until 1 yr, granted it most common around 6-7 months...but anywhere from 4 months - 12 months is "normal".
  • active teething where a tooth actually popped through, about 2 weeks ago. So right around 9 months. My brother didn't get his first tooth until 11 months. Nothing to worry about :)

  • My DD got her first 2 teeth on the bottom one right after the other when she was 5 months she is now 8 1/2 months and still only has those 2 teeth. I joke that she will never get any more but I'm not really worried about it. If she was over a year then maybe...don't panic every child grows at their own pace.

  • My DD was 11 months when she got her first two teeth.  My DS is 9 months right now and still has no teeth.

There is no reason to be worried...even if a baby is over a year old...the teeth are under there, babies just get teeth at different times.  How old they are when it happens is just something as random as eye or hair color.

  • DD got both bottom teeth at 5 months.  We are waiting on the rest.
  • Don't worry - DD did not get her first tooth until 8 month s- DS did not get his until about 10 months!
  • 8 months here... 4 teeth in one week... during an out of state trip for Thanksgiving, no less!

I've heard that teething signals the body's readiness for solids, so you may not want to introduce much in the way of solids if teeth aren't popping yet.

  • No need to worry.  My DD is 9 months and still has no teeth.  She has been teething off and on for months but nothing yet.  Some kids don't get teeth until a year or later.
