Pissed!!! WWYD???

DH has a friend who's sister works for Graco. We asked the sister if she could get us our car seat with a discount and she said yes. They eneded up costing $175 for both including shipping. Well, we gave the money for the seats to DH's friend (the have been friends since elementary school) to give to his sister. We found out last night that the friend has not given his sister the money and he won't answer when DH calls him now or when his sister tries to get a hold of him. We think he took the money....great friend huh??

So would you try and order the seats from the sister again or should I just go to BRU and get them myself? I have a few of the 15% off coupons I can use and some gift cards. Right now I am almost positive that we will never see that $175 again.

OMG....that is AWFUL!  I would try to get in touch with the sister, not through the friend, and tell her that you gave the money to friend blah blah blah.  Hopefully she can get on friend's case to try to get it for you.  If that doesn't work, I think you're going to have to cut your losses and your friendship.  I'm so sorry...that sucks!

why would you spend more than you have to? Get it via the sister but give HER the money - not a friend.... send a check, paypal, etc - i don't get why you'd give money via a freind to begin with.... what a jerk!

the whole thing that kills me about this situation is that he knew that they were for the car seats and I told him infront of 5 other people that it was for our babies. AND he has 2 kids of his own so he knows how expensive everything is.

That sucks!  I would just go buy them myself (only because I don't trust people very much so I would rather pay more and just do it myself).

Seriously?!! A jerk!!! Who steals from a baby? I would hunt him down, call everyone he know and show up where he is and make him drive you to his ATM!

What a jerk!  I would definitely get in touch with the sister and try to order from her again, but give the money directly to her.  Like PP said...who in the hell steals from a baby?? WTF?

Peakay is right, that's definetly first degree douchebaggery, any jury would convict.

If you know the sister, I would contact the sister directly.  If not, just go to BRU, and drop the friend.

That really sucks that a "friend" would do that to you. What makes it worse is that it was cash so you cant trace it, so it is your word against his. As others have said if you can contact the sis and try dealing with her directly this time. Sorry this happened.

Im late but man what a jerk. 

Do you have a Baby Depot around you?  I know they do a twin discount.  Maybe BRU does too.  Then see if you can use your coupons too. 

That is after you have DH show up at jerkfaces house.  Have him go in the evening when his neighbors are home in uniform.  Have him rush his house with his cars siren and lights on.     Maybe then he will get that money to where it belongs.  Could you try talking to jerkfaces wife/gf/babies momma? and see if she can get ahlold of him. 

Im really sorry about this.  It sucks when you are betrayed by a friend.  Good Luck getting everything worked out.
