Do you buy toys with "choking hazards" for DC?

Not sure I worded that very well...but what I'm trying to ask is do you buy toys for your dc that have warnings about choking hazards and the age rec is older than your DC is?

I have bought a few things that say for ages 3+ due to choking hazards. The boys are 2.

It seems like most toys I think they will like say 3+ though. Even little matchbox cars are 3 and up (some even older).

  • I do with DD. she knows how to play with them and not put them in her mouth. I usually will be close if she's playing with really teeny stuff, but for the most part, she's really good with stuff like that.

  • Well DD has a large assortment of Playmobil that they play w/ together...DD #2 is not even 2 yet.  They do great w/ them but I always try to be there supervising (Nesting) in case someone puts something in their mouth--LOL!  DD#2 is not a huge fan of putting stuff (unless it's a cookie or cracker) in her mouth.

  • Yes. YThey are not necesarily choking hazards, but they haven't gone through the extra testing. I test them myself...
