question about supply

i see posts on here all the time about people saying they're worried about their supply. I ebf and i am just wondering how do you know if your supply is going down? is it b/c when you pump you don't get as much as you used to get? or is it b/c dc seems hungry all the time? i am just wondering? thanks!

  • DS lost a pound and wasn't gaining it back. I've had to do lots of pumping, eating oatmeal and taking 12 Fenugreek a day to get my supply up so he would gain some weight, plus supplementing.

  • I had a feeling because DD was always frustrated while feeding and was still hungry after marathon sessions. ?It was confirmed by my LC. ?They weighed DD before and after a feeding and even though her latch and technique was fine, she was barely getting an ounce.?
  • thanks ladies i am just always so paranoid about my supply and was just wondering how you could tell. i really appreciate the info.

  • I EP now, so, for me it's when I can see an actual decrease in what I pump. I think I was having issues long before I EP as DD was constantly ravenous after BFing sessions and never seemed quite satisfied.  She's out of a growth spurt right now, so things are calming down considerably.
