Bad Mommy prize

I win the bad mommy prize today. DS has been waking for about 45 minutes in the middle of the night for the last week and just whining. I usually go in to check on him, but last night I had had enough. I just let him whine. Well, finally after about 55 minutes he started really crying, so I went in....come to find out that he had pooped, and that's why he was crying. I am such a terrible mom. Of course, I changed him and put him back to sleep, but I feel terrible for making him wait an hour for me to rescue him from the poopy. Just had to get that off my chest. Flame away....

  • Trust me, much worse things are going to happen!
  • don't beat yourself up, we've all or will be there at some point. He probably went back to sleep huh :) No harm done.

  • figures the one time you hold out he poops! Don't beat yourself up about it.
  • I did the same thing last night, I was so sure he would end up crying but nope he just fussed for about 30 minutes and went back to sleep.  He let you know he needed you by crying so don't feel bad until then he may have not pooped yet.  BTW- I LOVE YOUR SIGGY PIC.

  • That is nothing and I know I have done that a lot.  I always let my girls try and put themselves back to sleep at night.  My older DD once threw up at night and I never heard anything - she never cried or anything.  I found her sleeping in it in the morning.
