Gave an example of a man who gets up for work before his wife, so he pops the thermometer in her mouth, goes and brushes his teeth, then checks the temp and writes it down. I suggested this to DH because I dont usually get up at the same time everyday..
He laughed at me...and said "Yeah right"
I then said "I have a rather thick book in my hand!" And playfully slapped him on the forehead with it.
Stupid men
Re: So the book suggested that the Dh help with the charting...
I don't get why this is funny or why you'd lump all men in the same category as your so-called "stupid" husband. My DH does it for me every morning since he gets up before the roosters to be at the bakery.
::sits pondering if MrsLib is kidding or not?
::?
Yeah thats what I was trying to tell him. I dont get up at the same time everyday and I want things to be accurate! And the book seems to pinpoint doing it in the morning.
But that might hinder his "I get up 15 minutes before Im supposed to leave schedule" lol
Liberto, your hubby is a good man!
Dh is too, but he's a butthead sometimes lol.
I told him then to at least wake me up so I can do it and go back to sleep. He agreed to that much!
Sorry, that came off way more blunt than intended. I hate it when people call men stupid.
Aside from that, your temps are going to be wonkey of you wake up at all different times in the mornings, and it'll take him two seconds to jam a thermometer under your tongue. He doesn't even have to write it down--my therm records the temps.
GL. I hope your H realizes that it's nice when they play an active role in TTC.
Right now were not TTC, just trying to avoid. Im tired of HBC. It kills my sex drive and then just turns into a giant waste of money if your not even having sex! Plus Loestrin 24 fe is the only one that agrees with my body and my insurence dropped it a few months ago.
We'll be TTC in maybe a year or two. So might as well get in the habit now.
Even better of a reason for him to help. If you get up at different times, it can affect your charts, which means you could be TTC and not even know it!
EXACTLY!
I was hoping hitting him with the book would knock some sense into him. Ya know, like when religious people hit sinners in the head with the bible!? BAHA!
My dh also takes my temp. He is the one who knows how to shut off the first alarm, but not the second, and I'd have to roll over/move a lot in order to get the thermometer and temp. He always reads it too, and understands enough to know when I'm pre-O and post-O. When we were tta, it was important to me that he be involved and that everything be transparent. Not that I would ever try to trick him into pregnancy or that he would ever accuse me of that - but doing it together and making sure he understood and was equally responsible for our charting to avoid eliminated potential issues.
To take my temp at the same time, we always have an alarm set for 5:30 am. Every.single.day. Then we go back to sleep. After a few days, your body gets in the habit of going back to sleep again.
