BFers-How long to nurse?

Colin only nurses 3-5 minutes a session on 1 side only every 1.5-2 hours.  He has 5-6 wet diapers a day and 3-4 poopy ones still.  I think this is really quick.  he is in 6 month clothes, so I know he is growing.

Sounds like he's just a good little sucker...my DS nurses for about 10-15 minutes on one side every two hours......I think some babies are just more efficient at emptying the breast than others and the more "experienced" they get the faster it goes.

We usually only nurse on one side unless I feel like she isn't getting enough and is still sucking and hungry.  In the middle of the night, I'm happy if it's over 5 minutes, and we're lucky if we make it to 10 minutes.  During the day it's anywhere between 10-25 minutes.

 If he's producing enough dirty diapers, I'd just count your blessings he's an efficient nurser.  Does he just fall asleep after 3-5 minutes, or does he refuse to latch on again?

My DS only nursed for 5-10 minutes each feeding for the first few months.  He still doesn't nurse much longer than that.  Sounds like he's getting plenty to eat, I wouldn't worry about it as long as he's filling up the diapers and gaining weight.

Mine is a very efficient nurser.  I only takes him about 5 minutes on one side.  He also gets a lot of gas from gulping, though.

Doesn't fall asleep, just pulls off and won't relatch.  yup, he gulps and has gas.
