Poll: CIO & B/F

Since CIO seems to be the topic of the day... I think it might be interesting to see if CIO/no CIO has any relation to Breastfeeding/Formula Feeding. Not saying it does, just would like to see the info!

 Me:

1st son: B/F for one month, CIO @ 3 months (although CIO didn't last long because he started falling asleep when laid down)

2nd son: Currently B/F (almost 4 months), no CIO

I EBF - NO CIO for us... ?I just can't do it. ?ONCE he cried in the car and just as I was pulling over to try and calm him, he stopped. ?I don't know if that counts though.

EBF, no CIO. IMO, there are much gentler ways to teach her to sleep.

 

FWIW, we also cosleep.

Both kids are/were FF and we've never done CIO.

BF for the first 4 weeks, supplemented for 2 - but FF now. No CIO, they are too young, I can't stand to hear them cry, and they would wake each other up. So my DH and I just split them up at night and take care of one baby.

1st- BF for one month, CIO around 4-5 months...

2nd- still BFing, no CIO.

If I continue to BF #2 I doubt I'll ever let her CIO in fear that she's hungry since I can't "see" how much she's getting. With my 1st I saw what she ate and "knew" if she was hungry or not!

BF for 1 month, FF now. Haven't CIO yet but won't rule it out down the road. I would want to gain more information before I tried it.

BF but supplement. If we feel the need to, we will CIO (ferber) when he's older (I'm thinking 5-6 months). We don't now.

Well it's a little tough to compare because so many "no CIO"'s here... but so far here are the numbers:

CIO Total: 8     of those...FF: 5     BF: 3

No CIO Total: 17     of those...BF: 13     FF: 4

*If you stated that you weren't opposed to CIO, I included you as CIO.

FF & no CIO needed (STTN since 2 months), we do not/have not co-slept.

There does seem to be a trend...

CIO: 60% FF

Non CIO: 72% BF

For whatever reason!
