Does anyone have a sauna?

For some reason DH thinks we need to get a sauna. He is looking at a 3-person one right now. I totally do not think we would use it enough to justify the expense but he swears we will use it.

If you have one, how often do you use it? Where in your house is it located?

    I don't have one, but have been to a house with one and it was in the basement.

    I don't have one, but I am laughing at this post.  If I had a dollar for all the random things my dh thought we "needed."  A sauna is pretty random! :o)

    My parents have one, it seats 4-5. It has been  used as storage for the kids' toys for the last 16 years. LOL!

    oooh I would love a sauna.  I am always cold.  A warm wooden box sounds great in the middle of winter in western new york, lol.  But, we chose a hottub instead. We get tons of use out of it; probably 1-2xs a week.

    When it works, we use ours about 1x/week in the winter. We live in So Cal so it's outside. It came w/ the house. I'd never buy one because 1) the resale value is nothing, if negative and 2) it's another thing for DH to maintain. It's one of those things that's fun to have if you dont' have to pay for it.

    There is something wrong w/ the motor now, so we haven't used it in about 8 months. And we have to get a new top ($200+) w/ extra latches so DD can't get in it. It's actually empty now as we don't want water in it w/out proper tie-downs and a 2 year old.

    Um. nevermind. We have a spa, not sauna. Dur.

    Ha, joseys - I am constantly fighting off these "necessities" that DH comes up with.

    buffalo - Ok, that is the other part of it; DH's parents are remodeling the hot tub room in their basement and are offering to give us their old hot tub for free, but I can't/don't ever use hot tubs so I know that it would be useless for me, but DH would love one. I also just don't think we have a good place for it right now until we move, which is still 1-2yrs away. He thinks he is "compromising" with the sauna idea. Heh.
