5mths + Pubic Hair?

DS is 5mths today and we just noticed over the weekend he has pubic hair? Of course we're confused.  Is this normal? Anyone experienced anything similar? I googled it and there is very little information out there.

 TIA

  • Are you bf?  Maybe it's hormones?

  • I don't think that's normal - I know there's another Nestie who posted about this last week but I can't remember her name.  I would call the pedi though and have them take a look.

  • I would talk to your pedi, it could be nothing or it could be early puberty, which could result in problems. Now before you think I am crazy I know a lady who had a little hair by 1 y/o, period by 7  and started menopause at 21... It may not be as big of a deal for boys though...

    Thanks for the answers.

  • It isn't normal but it can be called precoius puberty (s/p) is wrong but i would call pedi and they will probably refer you to a endocrinologist.
  • Yes, it is precocious puberty. call your pedi ASAP!

  • I don't know a lot about this, but a friend's daughter was going through puberty early (starting around second grade) and I believe they started to give her growth hormones because you don't grow very much after you get your period.  Not sure how it works for boys.

Somehow I seriously doubt that, of all people, Amajane was doing that.  Sounds to be like she was simply confirming the name, in response to the question posed a few posts up.
