I've written letters of resignation before, but I've never written one for a job I absolutely hated before. My emotions are getting in the way, and it comes off sounding either too happy to leave or too bitter. I need neutral even though there's a part of me that would love to let them know what I really think. TIA!
Re: NBR: Anyone have good wording for letter of resignation?
Never ever write your emotions in a letter of resignation. Huge mistake.
Make a simple statement. I tender my resignation effective _______.
Signed,
you
That's it. Date it.
I agree with Lanie (gee, when do I not).
You could write a?separate?letter to your boss or CEO with some gentle suggestions on how they could improve their workplace. And you could add that that is why you are leaving your job. Constructive criticism should always be appreciated just don't get your emotions involved.?
Or you could just say nothing at all.?
Here are some wording examples:

Thanks ladies! Normally, I have no problem doing something like this professionally, but this place is just awful to the n-th degree. That's why I needed help.
My supervisor knows why I'm leaving. In fact, it's why she's leaving too. We're both fed up with it, and when she announced several months ago that she was stepping down in Jan, DH and I got very serious with our already existing conversations about what to do next.
It's too bad that it's the person at the very top that is making things so awful, and he has absolutely the worst management skills in the world. Better yet, he's oblivious to the fact and doesn't want to hear about how things could run around here b/c he's perfect from his point of view.
Oh well...Not my problem any more (very soon)! Thanks again!
