Babies: 0 - 3 Months

when'd you get an US & was it on target?

I'm scheduled to get my US at 18 weeks (and 4 days-if that really matters...) to determine the baby's sex.  I thought this question would be better answered my moms who've had their children. Thanks!

I'm sorry if it's been posted before, i've tried searching posts by subject and haven't had much luck on my computer.

Re: when'd you get an US & was it on target?

  • I had them every 2 weeks starting at 12 weeks with both of my pregnancies (IUGR risk).  At 16w it was clear with both; both were right.

  • Had US every 4 weeks starting at 18 weeks...they determined baby was a boy off the bat and they were right!  He had no problem showing off his stuff...typical guy.

  • I had a 3d done at 13 weeks & was told she was girl. They were right. I also had my "big u/s" at 21 weeks to confirm.?

And every u/s after that confirmed she was girl. I think I had 4 more. ?

  • We were told at 12 1/2 weeks we were probably having a boy (90% chance). It was confirmed at 18 weeks.
  • I had my u/s around 18w2d and it was right on.  We were able to see very easily that it was a girl.  I only had on other u/s, at 37 weeks to determine if she was growth restricted or just small, and her weight from that u/s was right on with her birth weight.

  • I had my "big" u/s at 18 weeks and the u/s tech correctly identified him as a boy. BUT I didn't know it at the time because we had her write it down on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. We didn't open it until after DS was born. :)
