I'm making a goodie basket for the daycare ladies.
I need more treat ideas to make for it.
I'm putting in:
Chocolate-dipped pretzel rods
Candy Cane Bark
What else?
ps - Candy Cane bark - easist "wow" treat ever - simply melt a package of almond bark and smash up a huge candy cane or a bunch of small ones.
Mix, spred thin, cool, and break into chunks and voila! deelish!
Re: Favorite EZ-To-Make holiday treats?
Turtles!
Mini pretzel pop a rollo on top, melt in the oven for 2 mins. Remove sheet from oven and press a cashew or any nut into the center.
Awesome all around treat. Most of the work comes from unwrapping the rollos.
Tied for #1 in my book (I'll try to find the recipe for the other thing it's tied with but these are easier to make):
4 oz. German chocolate
1 - 24 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate morsels
24 oz dry roasted peanuts (the kind in the glass jar)
1 bag of Heath bar toffee bits
In a Crock Pot on low heat:
Start out by melting the white chocolate bark, because it takes the longest. Stir chocolate frequently to prevent sticking and scorching. Once the white bark is almost melted, then add the German chocolate. When that mixture is pretty much melted, then add the chocolate morsels. After mixture is all completely melted, then add the peanuts and toffee. Stir until well mixed. Turn off crock pot. Spoon candies into small clusters on wax paper. Allow at least one hour to firm.
Yum. I think that I have to go get rollos...
Chocolate Peanut butter fudge -
1 pk (12 oz) of peanut butter chips
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1/2 bag (6 oz) of chocolate chips
Line a 9x9 pan with foil (butter the foil... it makes it easer to get out.)
Heat the peanut butter chips and 1 cup of the sweetened concensed milk (keep the rest for the chocolate part) in the microwave until melted. (I heat at 30 second intravels until smooth... don't over cook) Poor into the 9 x 9 pan. Place the pan in the freezer to help set. When the peanut butter layer is set, heat the chocolate chips and the remaining sweetened condensed milk and poor over the peanut butter layer. Set by putting in the freezer. Easy and simple.
The fudge we make is the same as Fasa's PB version, but with all chocolate chips. You can add nuts, too.

Saving this!
Two embarrassingly easy ones.
My cousin Tim (the great bear hunter) brought the best thing to Christmas one year. Ritz Cracker peanut butter sandwiches dipped in white almond bark. I also do a variation with mint frosting instead of peanut butter dipped in dark chocolate. Yum yum yum yum yum.
And my friend from work couldn't make microwave popcorn. (Seriously, she blew up the breakroom microwave putting the aluminum pan of Jiffy Pop in it.) But she made this phenomenal fudge with a can of frosting, a bag of chocolate chips and a bag of butterscotch chips. It was incredible.
Marking!
I've got 2
Christmas wreaths of course (I don't put bows on mine though)

And my favorite is Eggs and Bacon (not sure why it's a christmas thing but it is). It's very easy, you need yellow m&ms, almond bark, and prezel sticks.
Put down 2 pretzel sticks side by side, touching. Put a little glob of almond bark over the middle of it. Press down a yellow M&m on it. Let the almond bark cool Voila! It looks like "eggs and bacon" and it's a sweet and savory treat with the perfect combo of salt and chocolate. YUM!
