Can you feel an abcess when you blow your nose? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but today when I woke up I blew my nose and the area above my molar was very tender and sensitive. Now I feel a sort of dull ache.
?Could I have an abcess? I feel like I'm coming down with something, so maybe my glands are just swollen on that side or something? I've just never felt such an isolated ache when I'm sick.
?Thanks!?
Re: NBR: Any dental hygienists/dentists on?
Im a dental assistant, and it sounds like a sinus infection to me. Do you have a bump on your gums? Whens the last time you went in for x-rays, exam, and cleaning? If it was recent its very unlikely you got an abcess in a short amount of time.
If its a tooth infection what happens is you get a cavity, it grows into the nerve (usually takes a yearish- assuming you brush), has to be in the nerve for a while before you get an abcess (talking a few months).
Or it can be a periodontal abcess which is an infection of your gums. Are your gums irritated at all, do you have periodontal disease?
I'm not a dentist or a doctor, so if it persists tomorrow call your doctor or dentist.
