travelling with baby on small plane?

We weren't going to buy DD a ticket, but DH just pointed out that the direct flight to his hometown is on one of those puddle jumper type planes. You can't really get up and walk around in the middle of the flight. Would you buy DC a seat on a flight like this? The flight is about three hours.

  • I don't think ds would be happy to be confined to his carseat for 3 hours so for us it wouldn't be worth the money. I guess it depends on how well she does in a carseat for that long! FWIW we have flown with ds overseas several times on flights that were 9+ hours and could easily go a couple of hours without getting up with him.

  • probably not.  DS doesn't like to be in his carseat for too long and would probably spend most of the flight in our laps anyhow.

  • We just did that. ?The only thing an extra seat will do for you is give you more space. ?My DS wouldn't sit by himself in it anyway. ?On a small plane they take everything from you besides a small bag. ?So, no I wouldn't waste the money. ?Take the bare?essentials?on the flight. ?My DS was thrilled with the empty plastic cup the flight attendant gave him.

  • I've been with DS on planes like that and no I wouldn't waste the money. ?With 3 hours you will have a chance to get up if you need to and if DC is fussy than walking the cramped isle is going to be better than nothing and I don't think being able to just sit in the carseat instead of with you is going to help much. ?
