period question

when you first got your period after giving birth was it inconsistent in when it came. I got my first a 8 months.......had it for a week....then I week later it came again....now it's been 3 weeks and hasn't come....I know it's 4 weeks normally...but the 2nd time ithappening threw me....maybe my body is just readjusting.....i get nervous because i am on the mini pill plus using condoms and one malfunctioned about 2 weeks ago....
