Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Nut allergy? Check. Egg allergy? Check check. Ugh.

We found out on TDay by accident that DS is allergic to Pecans - they were in the sweet potatoes and I didn't know. He ate some and broke out in hives.

Well, this morning I was eating scrambled eggs and decided to share some with him. I had give him eggs before forgetting about the whole allergy thing but he did fine. Not so much today. He gobbled up probably a whole egg before I noticed the red blotches on his face and by the time I got back from the kitchen with the Bendaryl his face was covered in hives. Ugh. My poor baby.

Now of course I'm terrified to let him try any more new foods and will probably just breastfeed him until he is 5 y/o Confused I guess I was spoiled because neither of my older two are allergic to anything so this whole allergy thing is new to me.

  • I hate hives!!! I'm only lactose intolerent so no hives, DS breaks out in hives anytime he comes in contact with wool... guess we are skipping the petting zoo

  • Could it just be the egg white and possibly just giving him some scrambled yolk might be ok? I know it would probably be scary to even try that after this morning. Poor guy.
