I'll admit, I posted this on my local (Nest) board too but I'm hoping you gals could help add some insight. Yes, I did a copy and paste. I hope you don't mind. I appreciate the answers
Here we go...
Scenario:
My best friend in the world and all around patron saint has asked me to be the Godmother of her babies (plural.... I know I've mentioned the twins story).
So basically I want to get her something PHENOMENAL for Christmas. But I want it to be baby related. Now, I know there are plenty of books, etc but I'm thinking more of the day-to-day necessities. Keep in mind there are two little kiddies on the way.
What would you suggest?
My first thought was a really fun (and oversized) diaper bag but I don't know if that is useful or not. I don't have kids so I'm not sure what a really neat gift would be.
Toys are fun, but not until you've "met" them. And nursery items seem to personal.
What do you suggest? I'm willing to spend a healthy penny (because normally we don't do gifts... just baked goodies).
Thanks!
Re: "Gear" question for the Moms :)
How about a kick-ass double stroller? I don't have any recs, as I only have one kid, but I know some gals on here have doubles they adore.?
As far as diaper bags, I have a Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack and love, love, love it! I especially love that it can be worn as a messenger bag, since keeping your hands free is pretty much a necessity when dealing with kids. And you can get great stroller clips to hook it directly onto a stroller.?
For other ideas, I'd maybe ask the moms of multiples what they couldn't live without. Since having twins is a whole different ball game :-)?
GL deciding!?
Ju-Ju-Be diaper bags are awesome. Really cute prints, great features and just really fun and stylish. I'd recommend a back-pack style if you go the diaper-bag route. She will need her hands/arms free with twins. If you want to do gear, consider getting her two bounce-seats or swings. She will need a place to set one(or both) babies while she tends to them. I'd suggest two different ones instead of identical products because the babies might not both like the same exact thing. You could do a swing and a bouncy or two of one(or two of each if you're really generous!).
If it were me, I'd love a diaper bag filled with neccessities(wipes, diapers, rash cream, burpies, bibs, teethers etc). All the things she'll need for the babes but probably won't register for. HTH!
I've become quite a fan of some nifty products. They'd make a great combo gift if you put them all in a larger item (like the diaper bag you mentioned). I LOVE the Tiny Diner - she'll need them if she ever plans on eating out again (when the children are old enough). Find them at: https://www.kiddopotamus.com/p_tiny.php
Also, the Packin' Smart is a HUGE help. Keeps us from having to schlep around plastic baggies. These can hold anything from snack to pacifiers to whatever else you can fit into the cups! Find them here: https://www.packinsmart.com/
I'd also look into a sling (or two???!!!). Hotslings are pretty popular, but I love my Peanut Shell. DS is 17 mo and I can still carry him in it if necessary!
Good luck and have fun with your new role!!!
You're so right about moms of multiples... the problem? I told her about The Bump multiples board because I'd thought it was a great resource for her! Now my sneaky little ways have to be posted on other boards so that she doesn't see them
I'll look into the Petunia Pickle Bottom (the name is just too cute... it must be perfect!).
Oh, and double stroller has already been purchased by her mom Which is good! But still makes me scratch my head on what to do about the perfect gift...

You ladies are so sweet! Thank you so much for the responses! I have a LOT of research to do.
I really love your ideas. I'm going to start cooking up a big basket of goodies for her with all of your suggestions.
Thanks again!

How about instead of 1 big item. Get a baby bath tub and fill it up. like bibs (never can have enough, I recommend bumkins) onesies, socks, pj's, diapers, wipes, lotion, diaper cream, teethers, bottles, blankets, etc.
Of course there will be a shower!!! But if you knew just how long they have tried and how much they have been praying for this, you would understand that she wants this to be all about those beautiful babies... not her
Thanks again for the help gals!
