We just said we personally would not be comfortable with it.

I missed that but I do know that my DH knows someone who was sitll BF-ing her kids at 9 years old! Apparently in Japanese culture they do that or something.

Exactly!  I am more than happy to acknowledge others' opinions and their right to them.  It's called respect.  I like to debate, but I am the first one to stop and say let's agree to disagree.

I mean, what if I decide not to BF? Does that make me a bad person? It's all a personal choice and people shouldn't demonize those who have differening opinions. I thought I wouldn't have to deal with this type of thing anymore with the election over!

I should add the woman obviously doesn't use BF'ing as a primary source of food with a 9 yo, just that she apparently does it (has younger children so she's still producing milk I guess?) to comfort the child? I thought it was f-ing weird. way too f-ing weird for me. I hope to make it to a year but I really don't even know if we will make it that far. Maybe with pumping.

Well, we love you and your opinions! Just because some moron likes to talk badly about BOTB, who cares? No one knocked BFing their kids for any period of time (though I did say that BFing a 8 yo is disturbing, but it is). We are allowed to discuss our opinions, last time I checked, even though some of us are not in that boat yet.

Saying things like, "if they're old enough to ask for it, then they're too old" is not exactly judgment free.
