because I called my doctor, who I'm pretty sure thinks I'm a whack job now. But he said absolutely NO cat litter while pregnant. Not even with gloves and a mask because the risk is not worth it. Guess I'll be making a friend scoop it out or something.
Re: PSA: Cat litter...
Eww.
Get one of those electronic scooper things.
Ditto! Automatic cat box is a dream!
can you grab some cardboard boxes and line with plastic and have some extra litter boxes so they don't need maintenance during this time? I am just suggesting because I would feel really weird asking a friend, but that's because none of my friends who live very close have cats.
Did you see my reply to your first post about this?
My sister's friends relative changed the litter box once or twice during her pregnancy and her baby was born totally blind and severely deformed because of toxoplasmosis.
This is something that I think a lot of us are inclined to take lightly (I know I was) because we've never actually heard of someone having a problem. Well, now we have. So sad.
Yikes. So sad.
Stay away from that stuff Anna!
Omg how awful! I am so sorry to hear about that, definitely going to stay far away from the cat litter now! ?

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Blood test revealed I hadn't been exposed though.
