DCP (AKA FIL) having SOB...

I got a call at 4am from my BIL saying FIL couldn't watch DS because he was having SOB. This isn't the first time FIL has had some health issues and couldn't watch DS. Thankfully, I was able to get off work (I'm a nurse and we're slow) so I didn't have to call in. But... this is making me rethink getting DS into a more "conventional" daycare or something. The only issue is that I work 3 12 hour days a week and DH is in retail and works evenings, weekends and holidays, just like me. Would you let DC go to daycare on the days it works out and let FIL watch him the others or should I find a nanny or something else similar?

 I would suggest a nanny...her schedule would be more flexible then a daycare....
