Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Update to yesterday's HORRIBLE sleeping post

So, I posted yesterday that DD was sleeping horribly, but had no "sick" symptoms.  I thought for sure it was teething.

Turns out, she DOES have another ear infection.  I feel so badly.  This is the third reoccurence of the same infection, nothing is working to clear it.  She's on another antibiotic, but we also have an appt with and ENT to see about putting tubes in.

So anyway, I was surprised about the ear infection due to lack of any other symptoms.  Just to warn you ladies that it could really be an ear infection even without symptoms!

  • I am a little suspicious of this as well.  We have Bradys 6month checkup tomorrow so I will have him check then.

  • DD has had several ear infections and she doesn't show the "normal" symptoms of them either.  But now that I know how she acts I know what to look for and I usually catch it much quicker.

  • we had a sneaky ear infection once, and every time he's fussy, I haul him into the pedi.  I'm sure they think I'm crazy because he hasn't had one since, but the last time I was "vindicated" with an RSV diagnosis - I wish I hadn't been vindicated :)
Mommy to Seth (4) and Catherine Anne (13 mo.) Excited to welcome a third child in March of 2013!
  • DS went through this. He had the same ear infection for 4 months and we tried 4 different antiboitcs. He just had the tubes put in on Halloween and since has been doing much better. The whole surgery took not more than 15 minutes and he even had two clogged tear ducts fixed during the same surgery.

Ear infections are tricking because when they keep getting them they may not show the normal symptoms, etc. We went through this for a while.
