Life after swaddling?

I am seriously terrified of when we have to stop swaddling this baby. She sleeps like a dream in her miracle blanket. Last night we were treated to 11pm-6:30am. She's been sleeping 12-6 consistently since 5 weeks, but all of this sleep has come while she is swaddled. She is only 8weeks but already 13+lbs, she isn't trying to break free and I doubt she could get out of the miracle blanket but I'm wondering if others experienced a sleep regression once the baby wasn't tightly swaddled?

I don't know about that early, we swaddled DS2 for 8 1/2 months and he sleeps fine now except that he still nurses 3-4 times a night but I hardly notice sometimes.

LOVE IT! Thanks again for the rec   She was doing pretty well in our makeshift swaddled but this is like a suit of armor

I swear my friends don't believe me when I tell them how she is sleeping. It is awesome and I'm just enjoying each night as it comes.

Life is not so good after swaddling!  we stopped at four months because my pedi was really on me about it...said it could cause sids.  That was about two weeks ago...the first few nights he slept fine but I think that was teh after effects of the shot...now he has nights where he wakes up 3/4 times or every two hours....he's had a cold sot htat might be it and also it could be the 4 month wakeful period...but I miss the swaddle terribly!

hi! we still swaddled our 18 lb 8 mon old (almost 8 mon old).  no end in sight.  she doesn't sttn AT ALL, but she won't even lay flat unless swaddled!!!!  she is nuts!

We swaddled Giada until she was about 8 months old.  We used the "swaddle me" blanket by hippopotamus from BRU and they come in a few sizes and also cotton for summer or fleece for winter.  I swaddled her in cotton in August when she was born.
