we are just getting our DD off the paci. She just used it at night. We stopped it because she was waking up a couple times a night screaming because her paci fell out of her crib and she wanted it back. That was when we decided to let it go. Now she is screaming her head off. I hope this doesn't last long. It's like CIO all over again.

Re: Ashamed to admit
she isn't even 2! is that so bad? I don't think so!
Good luck, I hope it goes quickly...I am sort of hoping this baby will take a paci; my daughter never did.
they say it may potentially help reduce SIDS risk...
I have no idea what the 'norm' is. I am normally not one who cares what others think but I was starting to worry that she was throwing the paci out so we would come in.
My confession: I sucked my thumb into my teens and I guess I'm a little parinoid that she is going to have the same problem.

My DD still has hers and I'm not even thinking about getting rid of it. We had it down to night only, but then she got sick and has molars coming in. So now she is using it during the day again. We'll get down to nights only again once the teeth come in - hopefully soon.
