How long did your NB use the swing?

My older daughter didn't like it, but my baby is addicted.  However, we are seriously spending a ton on batteries. We are most likely planning baby#3 in a couple of years, and I am seriously considering buying the rainforest swing b/c it plugs in.

Just curious how much time my daughter has left in it. Thanks

Re: How long did your NB use the swing?

  • DS was an addict. He took all naps in it until almost 6 months old - he was way too big at that point.

  • i want to say 6 mo.  i think the plug in one would be a good investment.

  • At least to 6mths I think. Or maybe that was just me putting her in it so I could have a break ;)
  • Allison still uses her swing and she's over 7 months old.  I think Joey was out of it before now.

  • My DS used it religiously until 6 months or so until he outgrew it. Fortunately, we had the starlight swing that plugs in. It was a lifesaver. Its worth the $$ IMO. And plus, having an extra swing to keep in another room is always nice. We ended up buying an extra one since DS loved it so much.
  • We had the FP one that plugs in & I loved not having to worry about batteries.  She used it for about 6-7 months.

  • I think DS used his up until 7 or 8 months.  I don't know why I don't remember changing the batteries hardly at all!  We have the FP papsan swing.

  • I wish I could remember how old he was but I know he was over 6 months old.  We finally put it up when ds could reach the leaves on the mobile (we had the papasan one) and stop the swing.  He loved that thing.

Check at a consignment store.  You can sometimes find really good looking ones for half the price.  You could even take yours in and swap out.

  • I have pics of DD in the swing at 6 months.  She loved it.  Even a few months ago she found it in our spare bedroom and tried to climb in.

  • PAC used his until he was about 8-9 months or so, and the only reason he stopped is because he outgrew it. He would nap for twice as long in the swing.

PA we have the FP rainforest swing, and it is awesome.  And the music isn't annoying either.

  • My DD used the swing ALL the time and I feel like it sucks through batteries so quickly.  We ended up buying a battery charger and rechargeable batteries.  The best investment...
  • ditto stacynikki, we don't change batteries...um ever, so far!  DS was born the day before your DD and the fresh batteries we put in then still work.  How much do you use it?  I'd say DS is in it for 2-3 hrs over the course of a whole day.

  • My daughter used it for 6 mos.  Had to take every nap in it untill then.  I sold it after she was done with it because I had to change the batteries every week.  We will be getting the Graco sweet peace for the next baby.
