OPKs

I can't figure these things out.  Do those of you who use them use your first morning urine?  Or, do you hold it for four hours and POS between 12 and 4 pm like the box suggests.  I have tried both, and I rarely get a positive result.  I watch for EWCM, and have had some luck.  We're on month 8, and I'm getting really frustrated.  Our first daughter was conceived after only 2 months.  Any suggestions for using the OPKs.  I was really hoping that these would do the trick.

I do it just like the box says to. I hold it for four or more hours and tend to do it right around 12-1pm (lunchtime). I did it for one cycle so far and i got a positive on one day. Unfortunately it was not the same day as my EWCM, which was three days later. So it's not an exact science.

I finally got a positive on the Answer strips I've been using with first a.m. urine. I never did get one with the other kits I tried, but then again I was not charting either, so I was totally guessing about when to start them. PP was right though, it is not an exact science. So far I'm waiting on my chart to show ovulation that corresponds with the + on the test.

I get a positive opk every month with FMU. ?I know it's accurate because my temp goes up within 2 days. ?I'm on cycle 14, so I don't know how much it's really helping me but I sure know an awful lot about my cycles!

I used Walgreens' OPKs last month and with FMU because I wasn't bringing the sticks to work with me.

Days 10 & 11 I got a negative result and I got a positive for Ovulation on Day 12 of my cycle?and I just found out that I'm pregnant.

So even though around Noon is supposed to be the best time to use OPKs, it worked for me in the morning.

FWIW, I never got the OPKs to work for me. I bought a CBEFM and got a peak reading the first month using it (still a negative with the OPK on the same days of peak), and got my BFP last week. The test sticks didn't help me it all. I still have tons of them left and they 'should' show a positive now that I am pg, but they still don't...

I use FMU and have gotten positive results the past 3 cycles.  I just started using the CBEFM this cycle and the positive OPK results went along with my peak days...a little obsessive but I really wanted to see if they matched up...I figure if you throw enough at the wall something will stick eventually ha-ha
