Memory (though I don't know if it's really technically a board game). I started with the pieces right-side up when she was about 2 so she could make matches.
We have the newer version of Candy Land. Or maybe just the version for younger kids.. but any who... it spits out the shapes when you pull the candy cane and you place them in the right part of the gingerbread man.
It was great until Emilia lodge farm animal in it and now we have to get a new one!
The one pin said is the one I got for DS for Christmas. It looks to be a good starter. Candy Land Castle Game. I figure if he does well with that one, I'll try regular Candy Land in a few months.
Memory might be good, too. Starting with just a few cards at a time. DS plays that with me online and as long as there are only about 4-5 matches, he's pretty good at it.
My children love the Goodnight Moon game! Very simple, easy to play and no reading required. Also, Candyland and Candyland Castle, Lucky Ducks, and Memory are favorites at our house.
DS just got Hungry Hungry Hippos game at his birthday party Sunday and absolutely loves it! It is noisy and gets annoying but he LOVES it! He is limited to how much he can play it since he gets so carried away and excited when playing it! lol
I got him the Very Hungry Caterpillar game for Christmas and am excited to see if he likes it (both children LOVE the book so I thought the game might be a good one too).
My DD has a Candy Land game- instead of a board, you play on a rug. She is getting the Princess Memory game for Christmas. Oh and a Go Fish game- you play it with little fishing poles. It's cute- I hope she likes it!!
