Ok, I am organizing #2's nursery today and going through the things we can reuse and things I need to buy. A couple of questions:
1. How many onesies (long and short sleeved) should I have?
2. Did your newborn wear those mittens to keep from scratching him/herself?
3. Did your newborn wear the side-snap t-shirts or do you think they're useless?
4. How about the gowns? Yay or nay?
Re: some newborn questions - shouldn't i already know this stuff?
2. Did your newborn wear those mittens to keep from scratching him/herself? No.
3. Did your newborn wear the side-snap t-shirts or do you think they're useless? No. I used onesies from day one.
4. How about the gowns? Yay or nay? I loved the gowns with the elastic bottoms for the first month or so... easy diaper changes.
DS - December 2006
DD - December 2008
1. Not sure, I think I have 10 of each or something? I have more sleepers than anything.
2. yes
3. I have a bunch of these too, but I don't remember him wearing them a ton.
4. The gowns I liked - easier to change diapers when you're just hanging out at home.
*Of course, ask me in about another month or two and I might have different answers!
1. How many onesies (long and short sleeved) should I have?
I always went overboard on onesies. I have probably 15 onesies and I never use them all before he outgrows them.
2. Did your newborn wear those mittens to keep from scratching him/herself?
No
3. Did your newborn wear the side-snap t-shirts or do you think they're useless?
The only one we had was from the hospital. I didn't like it.
4. How about the gowns? Yay or nay?
Never used these either. They probably would have been nice with all of the diaper changes though.
1. I was never a onesie person for newborns. I had maybe 2 packs of long sleeve (I had a winter baby too). I mainly had sleepers.
2. no, my DD hated them. I have a few pairs for this little guy but doubt I'll use them.
3. Nope, only while in the hospital.
4. Yes, I loved the gowns. I used those at night with a swaddle for easy changes.
1. How many onesies (long and short sleeved) should I have? I have 2 packs I think of short sleeved ones. I don't use the long sleeved ones, she stay plenty warm w/the short sleeved ones.
2. Did your newborn wear those mittens to keep from scratching him/herself? no
3. Did your newborn wear the side-snap t-shirts or do you think they're useless? I used them w/DS instead of onesies but have just used onesies this time.
4. How about the gowns? Yay or nay? love the gowns, especially the button up ones that you can make into pants too...they don't have to go over the head which is nice if you need to change them in the middle of the night.
my read shelf:
1. How many onesies (long and short sleeved) should I have? I have about 6-7 s/s and 6-7 l/s onesies in both newborn size and 0-3 months in the dresser....I havent bought any 3-6 months clothes yet because I have no clue what season we will be in when we get to that size.
2. Did your newborn wear those mittens to keep from scratching him/herself? Olivia did, but with the carter's onesies and gowns we had, they also had the fold-over sleeve that worked better. The mittens did tend to fall off and become pointless. I have some on hand for DS, but may/may not use them much.
3. Did your newborn wear the side-snap t-shirts or do you think they're useless? I personally think they are useless. I have some from DD that I have in the dresser for DS just in case, but onesies were fine for us and I preferred them to the tees, so their little belly wasnt constantly exposed.
4. How about the gowns? Yay or nay? I loved the gowns! I bought a couple of preemie size ones from Carter's for DS because I remember the size up from carter's being ridiculously ginormous in the beginning. I also love the Gap ones.
