Stinky Pail

My diaper pail stinks--reeks actually. It isn't ammonia and it isn't the barnyard's like a fishy smell.  I am not sure what else to try.  I've tried baking soda, I've tried lid on and lid off.  Last night I washed my inserts in my usual tide, added a bunch of bleach, rinsed twice, then washed in calgon (we have a well and I haven't been adding anything to counteract the mineral deposits).

Don't get me wrong, I know a pail will smell, but this reeks with one diaper sitting in it for one hour.

Please help--someone, anyone!

Have you washed all the nooks in the pail?  I usually wipe mine down with vinegar every so often just so things can't grow in any of the crevaces.  I hope you can figure out a solution.  Can you use something else for a pail for a short while and see if it's the diapers vs. the pail?

I let some hot water, vinegar & TTO sit in the pail for a while the other day. What a difference!
