Aquarium or train ride for family outing?

Help me plan our family outing tomorrow!  So far I have:

Aquarium of the Pacific: about 1/2 hour each way, not sure how much DS would "get", although he loved the zoo and loves looking at the big aquarium at our ped's office.

Griffith Park to ride the 18" gauge train, go on the Merry Go Round and other park stuff like slides and swings.  Would be a much shorter outing (not sure if that's good or bad!), is 5 minutes from our house. 

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  TIA!

We took baby to the aquarium and he was mesmerized.  He couldn't stop staring.  Then he passed out from all the excitement and slept forever

I vote aquarium.

We went to the San Francisco Aquarium and DD loved it. She loved it and then passed out half way through. I guess it was really calming. It was fun for us too!

DS's favorite thing is the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  I rec aquarium over a train ride at this age.

Mama Jan - we used to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium every year as a school field trip.  Love that place!
