ok so do you think waaay far ahead when/if you have #3 (or more) or if you have more than 2 kids now, did you consider college in your decision? I told my OB we were thinking of TTC this fall and she said, wow you could have 3 in college at one time....and she is right. I guess I didnt think of it that way. I know they will overlap at least some, but there will be a point where all 3 would be in at one time...for 2 years if I got pg right away. That freaks me out along with a few other things of course.

Why do I feel like its so much harder making the decision on when to have #3 versus when we were trying for #2? I am SO glad we got pg with DD right away, otherwise I would've been terrified and get wishy washy about it. A big part of me wants to stop BC as planned at the end of next month and see what happens....but when we did that last time I got pg RIGHT away. I am ok with them being 2 years apart, but would it be easier to have another 3-6 months under our belts? who knows. And it could take longer this time...so who knows. I know I am over thinking this

My BIGGEST concern is that DH is gone a lot. We know we want #3, but I am trying to figure out when it would make life a little easier for me while he is gone...while not waiting too long.

Thanks for any input...and letting me vent

DD is 9 1/2 months and we're casually trying for baby No. 2. I feel partially insane. But then the other part of me doesn't think it will be too big a deal. As a disclaimer, DH is 38, so we don't want to wait TOO long. But that's not the primary motivation here.

DS was born yesterday via scheduled c/s. We plan on going home from the hospital tomorrow...so that's when the real fun will begin! I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty nervous. I just hate the whole c/s recovery process. Luckily my mom is staying with us for about 3 weeks...so that will be a huge help!

I'm thankful that breastfeeding has been going a lot better this time than it did with DD. (She had latch issues and I got frustrated and EP'ed for about two months before switching to formula). I'm a lot more determined to EBF this time, so I've really been working at it and he's been latching/BF'ing pretty well. It's definitely not easy yet, but I'm confident it will get easier.

Well we are going to start trying for #2. So we should have 2u2. Well my dh wants 3u3. And I'm kinda thinking HOW? I can see how 2u2 is gonna be a struggle, but 3u3 and me working? I dont even know how I'd get them out of the car safely at the babysitters. I have to work and I make more money than dh. But he also has to work because we get his insurance through his work and I doubt we could surive on only my income.

Anyway, are there any working moms that have done anything close to 3u3? How do you handle the whole car situation? And I guess just tell me about it? Is your life absolute chaos? I know I dont have 2u2 yet.. I am just thinking ahead. If this situation occured and I was working then I definitely would be paying someone to clean our house. We also have a lot of family that would love to watch any of the kids anytime, but of course I don't rely on it.

I would love to have 3 so close in age. So I'd love some/any advice. Thanks

Are there any full time working moms (married to full time working dads) here with two under two? Can you share your experience? How stressful is it, especially if you don't have loads of hired help?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about our son's birth mom contacting us and telling us she is pregnant again. She wants us to adopt this baby, and is due in October. Our son will be 17 months when the baby is born.

We still haven't made up our minds. Our first concern is the cost of childcare, but it looks like we might be able to swing a part time nanny instead of a full time center like we use now. However, I'm really worried about the stress of having 2u2 since both of us work. We also aren't going to be able to afford to hire help as far as someone to clean or help around the house - at least not for a while.

Would we be insane to take this on with both of us working full time? I just want to do what is best for our family, and I don't want to create such a stressful situation that everyone is unhappy.

So DS is going to be 3 a few weeks before this one comes. We are having issues with the monitor we have now and were going to get a new one then thought perhaps we should do research on some others. We would still like one in DSs room for a while. He just switched to a big boy bed and want to keep an eye/ear on him.

There really are no two room (two bases) monitors out there but the video monitors can do this. One thing I read is that when it goes to sleep at night (the monitor that we'd have in our room) so the screen isn't on all the time, it only does the audio from the last room it was on (can't remember which one I read this about). I don't want to leave a video up on the parental unit all night so I can hear them both as I'm told that's also really bright.

I want to be able to hear into both rooms at all times, even rotating between rooms every 30-90 sec. is fine, but not just one.

My brother has twins and just had to buy two different sets of monitors as two of the same will interfere. if we have to do this, that's fine. But as we are getting ready to buy a new one, might as well buy one that does both rooms if I can find it.

Do any of you have any of the video and audio monitors with cameras in two rooms that you are happy with?

If we have to we'll get another crib but I don't want to buy a second just to buy a toddler bed a few months later.

So last night we had two friends over for dinner, mutual friends of DH & I.

They live local to us, and know our children better than most friends we have do. We asked them what they were doing this morning, and if they'd mind sitting with both LO's for a few hours at best because DH had a court matter to take up today, and it was kind of important that I went along. As soon as we asked, the two of them exchanged glances as if rummaging through their minds to find every last excuse as to why they couldn't do it. Then they look back at as, both rambling off excuses at the same time "Oh uh, he might have to work tomorrow - he's gotta call his boss in the AM." "Oh, Abby has an eye appointment tomorrow.. at some point." (Abby's their daughter.) and so on and so on and so on. It's like, if you don't want to babysit, just say so. I don't think all the excuses are necessary.

So therefore, I didn't go with DH, DS won't take a bottle for anyone, so perhaps it was best I didn't go anyway. But still, it's the fact that two really good friends of ours couldn't be bothered to sit with the two of them for a little while.

We will be welcoming our 2nd DD in late Oct/early Nov. DD#1 will be approx 19 months old. We were hoping to start potty training early and be in the process when DD#2 arrives (both DH and I were fully PT prior to 2) but so far DD could not be any less interested and I am absolutely not going to push it. I am however going to get as much info as possible between now and Oct about potty training so I am prepared when DD is a little more receptive. I don't inagine there will be much time to read PT books during the few months of 2u2. So, I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good PT book or has any tips, warnings or advice on PT with 2u2. Assuming DD continues to show no interest in early PT we will likely start when she turns 2, which will be when DD#2 is approx 5 months.

For me the hardest is when they are teething at the same time. And bathing. I am so tired at the end of the day. I just can't bath them together in the tub yet. I have to do one on one day, and the other a different day.

For me the best thing is when I can get them both to laugh together. And when Lo #1 just hugs or kisses LO#2 out of the blue.

What is the hardest and best thing for you?

This may apply more towards SAHM's, but I imagine it would come in handy during a maternity leave, too. I'm just curious if any of the 2u2 moms have play pens, or some type of fenced in area. Now that DD is mobile and very active, it's become clear that we'll need to do something for when I'm home alone with 2u2. I plan to BF and can't imagine how I'll be able to contain DD without something!

If you do, what do you use and/or recommend? I've seen a couple longer fences on amazon that we're thinking about ordering.
