I'm 37 weeks pregnant with #4 and on top of that and homeschooling, we're moving in October. I have a HUGE urge to nest and make things clean and tidy and get EVERYTHING done (for baby and moving) ASAP. The problem is that I have painful BH every day now and spend a majority of the day with three kids hanging of my limbs or climbing all over me, so I'm sore all over and I can't really bend over to do much either. Major whine and vent. I'm tore between wanting to be done with pregnancy and wanting more time to get things done. Of course, I've never gone before my due date, so I probably have at least 3 more weeks of all this lovely pain and not being able to sleep.

This past week or so, I've been feeling more down than usual. I've been crying a lot, not interested in doing much more than sleeping, and not really caring about managing my gestational diabetes so carefully (don't worry though, my highest numbers have only been around 150, and that's rare). I miss DH all the time, and when he texts me from work, I start crying all over again. Am I alone? Do you think this is just a side effect of the contractions and everything else that's been going on? I've been on Zoloft my entire pregnancy, but now I feel like it's not working at all. :-(

Hey there, fellow crafters! I figure some of us are already well on our way to creating for our new or existing LOs, some are just getting started. This gives us a place to post progress, brag on our successful projects, look for motivation/inspiration, etc. I'm great at planning and starting projects, less good about actually getting everything done.

Here's what I've got going on now:

About 9 years ago (11th grade!), I started one of my first knitting projects - a baby blanket for my physics teacher. I didn't finish it until a couple years ago, so obviously that teacher didn't get it. Whoops. Plus, I ended up with a strip of knitting that is 24" x 54". Not exactly a practical piece. Now, I'm the pregnant physics teacher, so I'm going to fix up my bad planning and make it work! Found a cute blue and green stripe yarn to make border strips to fill in the full blanket size. We're team green, but I think the color works either way.

I didn't see this anywhere else, so hopefully it's not a repeat thread!

I've been experiencing extreme itching on my hands and feet accompanied by a sort of small blister-y rash. I talked to my OB about it and she's concerned that it may be cholestasis. I have blood tests tomorrow morning, and I'll find out the results early next week.

I've done a little research on it, but there's not a whole lot of stories or anecdotal info that I've seen. I was wondering if anyone's been through this before, and what your experience and you and baby's outcome was?

TIA!

After birth, the baby no longer needs this extra blood. This blood is called placental blood or umbilical cord blood: "cord blood" for short.

Cord blood contains all the normal elements of blood - red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. But it is also rich in hematopoietic (blood-forming) stem cells, similar to those found in bone marrow. This is why cord blood can be used for transplantation as an alternative to bone marrow.

Cord blood is being used increasingly on an experimental basis as a source of stem cells, as an alternative to bone marrow. Most cord blood transplants have been performed in patients with blood and immune system diseases. Cord Blood transplants have also been performed for patients with genetic or metabolic diseases. More than 80 different diseases have been treated to date with unrelated cord blood transplants.

For believers of the Christian faith the blood of Jesus Christ is what saves. If there was no shedding of blood by Christ there would be no forgiveness of sins (Heb 9:22). Once for all.

The blood of Jesus is represented in communion, reflected in Passover and Easter and is still relevant today. We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev 12:11). When we plead or spirituality send or apply the blood of Jesus over our lives we are protected, sealed and victorious.

As we are considering cord blood banking for our babies and their future physical health, there is a blood donor that has paid already paid the price for all.

So now she has to figure out how to help her daughter deal with the finger pricks and the insulin shots while being 35 weeks pregnant. My friend wants to help since she's the kid's care taker most of the time. Here's where I need your help. They tend to do a lot of baking since the munchkin loves to be in the kitchen, obviously baking cookies is not such a good idea anymore. Do you ladies have any recipes that will be easy to do with a three year old that also said three year old would enjoy? Thanks in advance

I went to the Dr. today, and she was concerned about the weight that I have put on during pregnancy. Well, only after I brought it up. You see... I have been diagnosed with GD since early pregnancy. I was on insulin for a while then I moved states, saw a different dr. and got my numbers under control without insulin and with diet alone. I have logged my food intake for months. I have made sure not to eat crap and to keep my blood sugar in check. I am in no way starving myself, as I ate an entire ice cream sheet cake over the course of 2 weeks. I started out this pregnancy at 120 lbs (which is 10 lbs over my normal body weight, but I never lost IVF weight from my previous child). I am currently 130 lbs. I even lost 1.5 lbs since my last appointment. I brought this to my Drs. attention and she was like "Oh, yea, that is not good. You should have gained more weight for the health of the baby." Now, I am sort of pissed. I have done everything that they asked me to do to keep this baby healthy, in terms of blood sugar management. I have brought my weight concerns up to my GD dr. and she said "eat more avocado and nuts and stuff with good fats." Right... bc that is going to pack on the weight.

Basically, is anyone else in the same boat? Did anyone not gain very much weight this pregnancy? I feel like I have done something wrong in trying to do everything right! Also, now that I am 34 weeks, I barely have an appetite! I feel so full so quickly bc of the size of my belly! It makes me sick to eat too much.

Hi guys! We are pretty set on a 1st name for a boy, but are completely stuck on a name for a girl...our first daughter's name is Eliana, and we often call her Ellie...I know there's a baby name board but that is more impersonal...I put our possible middle names in parentheses next to a couple of them, but we're not married to them...suggest others that you think we might like if none are your style...thanks in advance!

Okay ladies, I am desperate to find a solution and help my 3.5 yo stay asleep at night. We have been going on week 5 of non stop wake up calls that last anywhere from 1-4 hours. Before that I had a couple good months of sleep and before she moved into her big girl bed she was sleeping 12 hours straight.

very rarely does she ever say it's from a dream/nightmare. She only tells me she just wants to mommy to sleep/lay with her.

Usually, I wouldn't be stressing AS much as I am now, however, there is absolutely no way I can continue to get up with her while getting up 3 or more times for a newborn. She already has a special blanket she has had since birth but it's not doing the trick anymore.

Out of desperation I even tried giving her a binkie back at night. It worked one night. I've tried no night lights, night lights, we have a sound machine and the list goes on.

I am looking for any tips or advice to maybe help her stay asleep and not cry for mommy.

What I have tried: Binkies, bribing with a prize in the morning, tried getting her relaxed and telling her that mama needs to go back to sleep. She just screams and screams which then wakes up her little sister in the room next to her. Anyone have ANY advice?!
