Bad news at NT scan (update #3 in comments!)

So we had our NT scan and unfortunately it was not the result we were hoping for. They measured the Nuchal Translucency at 3.5mm and anything over 3.0 is considered abnormal. That combined with my hormone levels placed my down's risk at 1/28. But what really freaked me out is the doctor said that babies with measurements of that level will have some sort of health issue around 50% of the time, whether genetic or something structural like a heart defect etc. There's this whole crazy list of things it can be caused by. Or... it could just be our baby has a big neck. Flip a coin basically.

We are freaking out and basically have been crying since we got the news yesterday.

I was wondering if anyone else has had an elevated NT measurement and how that worked out for you? We are also potentially going for a CVS test on Monday. Has anyone else undergone that? Anyone know any positive or horror stories?

Just out of curiosity... What happened to all of your wedding dresses after your wedding? I’m thinking about having it turned into a cocktail dress, but if I have a daughter I want a picture of her laying on it (newborn pics) Of maybe keep it and do something for one year pics... Up until Monday this week I have been feeling very pregnant then I had a mild migraine and tiredness over Monday and Tuesday, then nothing! I feel great. Energy back, normal appetite not raiding run e fridge. Been 7 years since my last baby is this normal? I'm 13+5

We are due May 7 with twins ( ) and we are soooo excited!

My husband is the creative type and I am a Project Manager. My life is full of spreadsheets, plans and charts. We are trying to combine our styles: my need to schedule dates for creating the registry, interviewing pediatricians, etc. and his need to not feel overwhelmed.

I thought maybe you all might have some ideas on how to make the whole process "fun" so that he doesn't feel overwhelmed with everything that must be done, but rather enjoy himself?

I saw a silly Hallmark movie with a fun, interactive refrigerator calendar where you could put goofy magnets on every time you accomplished something. I may do something like that?

Hi ladies.... At my 12 week ultrasound they did the MY scan. BY measured 2.9mm, so just below abnormal which is 3. They then told us it looks like a cystic hygroma may be forming but they couldn't say for sure. We opted for NIPT which came back with no high risks for anything or scans for (and it looks like we are having a boy!) I scheduled a follow up ultrasound for 16 weeks. I know the only way to know is an amnio but am scared I risking a perfectly healthy baby when there appears to be little chance of him being at risk... thoughts? Anyone had an amnio before?
