There's going to probably be a lot against and for the discussion but I would like to know...

So I was discussing with a friend how annoying it is changing LOs nappy at night time as it seems to wake her up a lot more and it gets harder to put her to sleep. My friend then told me she doesn't change her sons nappy once he goes down for his proper night sleep which I thought was a bit weird but then I tried it and she was right it does make a big difference but I'm not sure if I'd be game to do this every night... I was wondering what everyone else's opinions were on this topic and what you all do with your LOs?

This was my first pregnancy and I gained about 40 pounds (yikes!), I am dieting and exercising and I noticed my weight loss has hit a standstill at around 117 lbs. I started to lose a lot of weight quickly and now no matter what I do, I'm stuck!! Is anyone else having this issue due to hormonal changes and what not??

She tolerates it for no more than 10 minutes at a time but she doesn't play with the toys are anything. Mostly talks and stares around(which is why I think she likes it). When do they start getting interested in the toys and things? I don't wanna do anything to harm her as well, so I do stay with her at all times. Is this to early to be putting her in it?

Can anybody relate?

Baby Clay wants me to hold him nearly all day long...and only me. He will scream after less than 5 minutes with even DH. It's frustrating for all of us. I have a preschooler who also needs me and a house and business to take care of. I can't hold him all the time. I wear him a lot just to avoid the crying. Is this normal? DH works a lot and I'm with baby 24/7 but should he be this attached? I feel awful for saying this, it must sound horrible but I need a break every now and then too.

I seriously can't go to the bathroom before he's crying. As soon as I pick him up, boom, fine. I could hold this kid upside down and he'd be happy as long as I'm holding him.

Suggestions? Anyone relate?

Hey moms! Okay so my sweet girl has had a rough first couple of months. We tried every formula under the sun and she was finally able to take Elecare. Well now, it's obvious that this is starting to upset her little tummy as well! She was super constipated and in a lot of pain before, and now she's pooping like 6 times a day and in obvious pain again! I have no idea what to do now. She has tried every formula you can think of. Her GI Specialist said she has MSPI but I don't understand why this formula is making her hurt again? Any mommas have some advice on what I should do?
Thanks in advance!

As I watch my BM supply continue to dwindle... I'm facing the reality that before long we will probably be exclusively FFing. Of all of my expectations, this one is the hardest to let go of. I had such dreams of breastfeeding. Anyways, it's no secret that formula is rediculously expensive, so I recently exchanged some gifted soy formula that I don't want to use (we have used similac sensitive since 1wk) for generic. I was able to get 6 huge tubs of Parent's Choice Sensitive, which is supposed to match similac. I've started LO on the PC, and over the past few days her poops have gotten harder.. it looks like we're on our way to constipation. I'm trying to decide if it's the formula itself causing the constipation or just the sudden change. I'm going to try mixing PC and similac and see if that helps to transition.

Anyone made the change to generic and experience constipation? What brand? And did it go away after LOs system adjusted or did you have to go back to name brand?? TIA!

Anyone else experiencing PPD? I seem to be feeling darker and more hopeless as weeks go by - and I expected to begin to feel better not worse. Wondering what others are experiencing. My LO is almost 11 weeks old. I have trouble sleeping - even when I have someone else watching her so I can nap. I absolutely can't sleep when I have an ear out for the monitor which can make nights very difficult even though she will sometimes do a 5 hour stretch. When I do sleep I have horrible nightmares, and now I'm beginning to fear sleep. I feel very anxious for each coming day - and feel very stressed while doing anything with her - even just feeding her which is a struggle and can take 40 min at times. I pump but also supplement (poor latch and low milk supply issues). I feel a knot in my stomach during her naps just waiting to hear her stir and wake up. If she doesn't do what I "expect" - for example if she only takes a 45 min nap when I'm hoping she takes 1.5 hour nap I get extremely stressed and anxious and don't know what to do. Trying to follow E.A.S.Y routine but when she wakes up and it's not time for E yet - I almost panic. Most of the time I just want to curl up somewhere and cry - sometimes I do just that on her nursery floor after I put her down. Getting out of the house with friends used to be a happy relief - but now I feel high adrenaline watching the clock knowing my free time will be up in 2 hours...1 hour...30 min.... Going out with her in tow is extremely stressful on me - I worry I'm over tiring her or missing her naps and I will pay for it later. I feel like I don't know how to do anything and feel very guilty for feeling so SAD and like I want to escape. I panic when I know I will be alone with her (zero thoughts of harming her - more just afraid something will happen and I won't know what to do). Anyone go through this? Thoughts, tips?

I have a 9wk son and my husband is constantly telling me how he would pay more attention to a girl because she's "precious" and "delicate." I keep telling him how our son is those same things and deserves the same amount of love and affection as a girl would. He never uses a sweet voice with our son and always speaks to him sternly and tried to negotiate with him on why he's crying. My husband is an extremely gentle, non-aggressive guy so I'm not sure where this stems from. I know his father wasn't too involved with taking care of him when he was a baby, and I know he's been seeking advice from him. It breaks my heart, because even though our baby is a boy - he's still just a baby. Does anyone else think it is normal to treat the two differently? Mother's instinct is to give all her babies endless amounts of love. But what about the fathers?

Hi all, I felt pretty lucky with my son taking to both the breast and bottle easily (started pumping about 4 weeks ago). But all of a sudden within the past 3 days I'm struggling to get any milk. I get a good 5 ounces when I wake up - I pump the side he's not feeding on - but then the rest of the day is tough. He ends up crying because he's not getting enough from nursing, so I have to use the bottles I have pumped.

My main concern is I return to work in 2 weeks, this could not be worse timing!! I'm so worried I won't be able to get enough of a supply to last a few days, and then when I pump at work I may not get enough to continue!

Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do to get back to producing a lot?

Looking for a little guidance, advice, help for one paranoid mama... I'll try to make a long and complicated story short...

I'm a FTM and my DD is 10 weeks old and has had two UTIs accompanied with bacterial blood infections (e coli). We've spent time in the hospital for both instances - total of 16 days combined. During her first infection, she had an ultrasound done on her kidneys and bladder, as well as a spinal tap (two of them!) to rule out bacteria in her spinal fluid, everything came back fine. After the first infection she had a VCUG done to rule out her urine back flushing, came back normal. About two weeks after the VCUG, we were right back in the hospital with the same infection. We had a second ultrasound done and it came back normal again. She has been on antibiotics for so long and now she will be on a prophylactic to try to prevent any future infections. Her doctors have given us some theories, but no definitive answers. We are meeting with a pediatric urologist from CHOP to hopefully understand what is causing the issues, but I am a wreck (to put it mildly). I am constantly taking her temp (that's been the only way we've discovered there's been an issue). If she sleeps too long, I immediately think something is wrong. I've become the worst helicopter mom you could ever imagine, but I don't know how not to be. I feel guilty that I made her sick because I couldn't breastfeed or that it's our dogs or that she sat in a wet diaper overnight. Everything I do and everything she does, I analyze under a microscope. I've never heard of a baby getting two UTIs and bacterial blood infections but apparently it is somewhat common (but two back to back)??

Besides all of this, she is a healthy and extremely happy baby. She's eating well, gaining weight like a champ (almost 13 lbs!), she's developing normally, which is a relief, but still in the back of my mind, I'm waiting for the next infection, for the next hospital stay. I'm so scared. Maybe this post is just a rant/vent because my poor family has heard all of it and thinks I'm jumping off the deep end, though they've been very supportive. And my poor hubby, bless his heart, he's been so great dealing with my craziness. Mamas, how do you not drive yourself crazy worrying??? I welcome any advice, comments or words of wisdom.

However, as the date gets closer and closer I am still upset but some days am excited. Any other moms feel this way? I feel guilty for being excited but I do feel like a part of me is currently missing by not working. I'm also excited on the hard days at home that I will soon be able to get out of the house and not have anyone dependent on me 24/7. Am I terrible for feeling this way?

So..

Last night I started to FINALLY take advice from this forum seriously and started a bed routine. I actually started a couple of days earlier but bubba was sick so she was sleeping terrible regardless but she's much better.. I started a bath around 7pm took her to my room peacefully rocked and patted her and she was asleep around 7:30pm. I usually want her to go to sleep at 10pm so she doesn't wake up too early but I heard on here that it's good to put then to sleep early and can help them sleep longer. Anyways not sure which one worked or if they both worked but instead of her usual 4 hours sleep she slept 8 HOURS!!! Bitter sweet as I expected her to wake up so I was awake for 5 of those hours nooooooooo

So lady's that haven't tried these things out yet and are struggling with their babies sleeping patterns PLEASE TRY IT!

Sometimes she eats and other times she just latches on and hangs out with the nipple in her mouth then when I try to move her she wakes up. For those of you that experienced the growth spurt already how long did it last? My Wonder Weeks app says we have 7 more days. Please tell me that's not true!

Wakes up a 5 back to sleep at 7, up from 9-12 when he goes to sleep and sleeps the whole night.

I have tried waking him up, keeping him awake, etc. It doesn't help or work. He either gets super cranky and goes to sleep anyways(literally as we are stimulating him every way possible), or he just goes to sleep and stays asleep. I know babies sleep alot, but according to his age he should be staying up a lot more by now. What say you?

Doc told me I had granulation tissue and they needed to cauterize the skin with silver nitrate. I went in last week to get it done and was told I might have to do it again this week. I'm sick thinking about it because it hurt so much the first time. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm hoping this isn't something I have to do for several weeks for it to heal. Next week is supposed to be the "clear all" for sex and exercise--I don't see either of these in my near future and feeling pretty sad about it.
