Hi ladies,

Anyone else experiencing extremely frequent urination since having your baby???? I go to the bathroom TONS of times per day. At first I thought it was because I'm breastfeeding and drinking more water than prior, but it doesn't matter how much or how little I drink I ALWAYS have to "go." I'm terrified of what this could mean and have scheduled an appt. with the urologist. My dad had diabetes so I've already checked my blood sugar with his home device and thank God that was fine! Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

I feel really bad for them and her it's been a long weekend. I feel bad because they aren't getting much baby time but I can't stand to hear her cry. My son was never like that she seems so young to be like this 14 weeks. Anyone else going through this?

Which does everyone prefer?? We did similac sensitivity in the hospital but noticed he started taking the bottle differently after a while as in acting like he was choking crying all the time super gassy. So then our doctor put us on enfamil for spit up. But spit up was never a problem. He did the same things so then he put us on a lactose free formula. He never gave us a specific type or brand just said get a lactose free formula. Well all I found at our store was enfamil soy milk.. it's helped I'd say with the gas issues but he's still had reflux we have him on zantac and he spits up alot now. But the formula is very unsatisfying to him. He can never get full. So I started a little cereal since his enfamil for spit up was rice based. But he seems constipated. Anyway. I decided to go back to the similac sens sensitive since my doctor never gave me a specific brand or formula.. anyone have any thoughts on this? It says for lactose sensitive babies.. but it is milk based but I'm unsure. He just took 6 Oz of this and seemed full and happy. But it was the first time.. opinions please. And ps. Doctor did say a long time ago we would eventually go back to the similac.. so maybe it is the better choice?

Hi Ladies,

I'm putting this out here 'cause I don't really know which board post it should go under: it's a little bit breastfeeding, bottlefeeding, and medical issue. So my 3.5 month year old isn't gaining weight. We found out he had food allergies because his stool tested positive for blood. The doctor recommended a dairy free soy free diet from me. I'm doing it. Above and beyond: dairy free, soy free, treenut free, peanut free (Still eating eggs).
The doctor also recommended Alimentum. DS would eat it, but then a few hours later wake up in horrible stomach pain with liquid diarhea, horrible gas, and three hours of screaming followed by hours of stomach discomfort. This was after being well burped and held upright for about an hour and only 1oz of formula. I'm thinking that he's still allergic to it.
My doc wasn't in the office today, but I talked to another doctor who said it was okay to start Neocate. This is the most hypoallergenic formula on the planet. DH is giving it to DS right now and I'm just all terrified that it's not going to work and then I don't know what I"m going to do. Regardless, I'm going to get a referal for a GI specialist, but I keep getting lost in an anxiety land of "what if there is no food he can eat and he dies". These past two weeks have been some of the hardest of my life, and I have scoured the internet for bad reactions to Alimentum but haven't found any with lots of details.
Has anyone else had this problem with a previous child? Was there a light at the end of the tunnel? Did Neocate help?

My husband went to pick our baby up at daycare today and we LOVE this place. We have been extremely happy with it, but when he picked up Zachary today, he said that his arms had these plush toys on them and his arms were slightly lifted. He said it looked like plush rings that were loosely around his arms but his arms were raised?

I have been Mia on here for the past month or so... simply because little one has been scaring the crap out of us. I am hoping someone can say they have had similar things or know how the hell to keep my nerves from getting the best of me.

Little one has had a few issues since she was about a week old. At 4 days she spit up, stopped breathing and turned blue at 3am. I flipped her over banged on her back and was able to get her breathing again. Doctor had no clue what caused it. She then developed a rash which the doctor told me was baby acne. We saw a new doctor when she was about 4 weeks old and they were able to tell us she had a milk allergy and the rash should get better when we get her off milk based formula. She continued the spitting up and breathing thing multiple times a day so we tried medications, different formulas, just about everything! We finally saw a GI specialist who diagnosed her with severe acid reflux and milk allergy. We went on Zantac, Prevacid and alimentum. The spitting up and breathing has finally worked itself out and we are doing pretty good with that.

Then last week she spit up blood on me... I freaked took her to the doctor who told me that was normal... I called Bullshit and called the GI. She then didn't eat for 18 hours so he ordered x-rays that came back ok. Then she decided to have an allergic reaction on us that caused us to rush her to the ER. Her whole face went puffy she broke out in hives on her face and her eyes were swollen shut. She was also coughing like she was choking. ER said it was definitely an allergic reaction to something, but with her being this little there is no telling what. We didn't do or have anything new around her when it happened.

Sorry for the long post but I am truly losing my mind with all this. I suffer from anxiety and as I am sure you can imagine I am freaking out every time she coughs or sneezes now. The GI told us if anything else happens they are admitting us to the hospital for a few days of observation and testing. I hate that my 3.5 month old has to go through all this. Even though it isn't phasing her much she is still smiling 24/7 and laughing at everything.

The picture was about 10 minutes after we got her in the car to the hospital after the reaction.

We don't have a sitter yet but my boss is awesome enough to watch him for us. I have no idea how to compensate her for doing this for us. I'd like to pay her (or offer her some knowing that she will likely refuse) but I don't know how much is appropriate. I also thought of making sure there was dinner ready for her but she has celiac disease and I'm terrified of accidentally cross-contaminating the food and making her ill. Any ideas/suggestions?

I got very blessed in the husband department but tonight he is seriously pissing me off. Do I have the right to be mad or am I just tired and overreacting?

I'm still on maternity leave and so I do about 80% of the work with LO while DH goes back to school and runs his online business. There are times I get upset but try to remember he is doing this to have a better career before Savannah has any memories of him being around.

This week coming up is really stressful for him as he has a midterm, a big calculus test and some other assignments/quizzes due. He was gone today from 7-6 and then studied the whole time he was home except for about 10 minutes of cuddling with Savannah and about 15 minutes for dinner. I said nothing. In fact, I made him dinner, made brownies (his fave) and brought a beer to him at the computer.

LO woke up at 12:45 to eat (the 4 month sleep regression is real) and he got up, said absolutely nothing, and went to sleep in the guest room. Really? You couldn't have even said something to me? If he had picked her up, given her to me and kissed me and "asked permission" to sleep in the guest room I would be bummed but not mad.

The truth of the matter is that I do 100% of the MOTN feedings anyway because she is EBF, but it really pissed me off! I don't like sleeping alone and now not only do I have to sleep alone but I also have to make the guest room up tomorrow??

Do I have the right to be pissed? Also kudos to anyone who actually read this, it was SO much longer than I thought it would be!

ETA: He will be gone from 7a-9p today so it's going to be a long day.

We received a notice from the city last week that they would be shutting off the water on our block for 24hrs on the 21st. Pretty bad timing since we have a sitter coming that evening and Damien and I fly out the following morning. Well today we received two new notices. One says the water will be shut off for 24hrs on the 18th (7am to 7am on the 19th) and the other says on the 19th (7am to 7am on the 20th). That's 48hrs of no water! We aren't allowed to flush, shower, wash dishes, etc. Of course I'm thinking about Damien and making his bottles and bathing him. Talk about crazy! I'm glad we will have it on the 21st but sheesh. My husband called the city and they said they can only shut it off for 24hrs. I spoke with the construction crew and they said it could be 48hrs of intermittent work so the water could be on and off at random times OR they may just shut it off for the entire duration. Ugh! Needless to say, I'm making a run to the store to stock up on water.

we took Cole for his 4 month shots (he's 3.5 months but bc they gave him the first set early, this is when we had to go). Anyway! Long story short we saw a different dr at the practice bc our regular ped. is on maternity leave. This lady has never seen my son. She started off the appointment telling me I should consider supplementing with formula bc he's only 14lbs. Cole is EBF and has roughly 35oz a day... I don't see a problem here!!! Instead of encouraging my desire to EBF she was laser focused on formula. Wtf!? She kept saying "well at 4 months he should weigh x". Well lady... he's 3.5 months!!!!

Then!! She tells me she wants his legs evaluated bc he shouldn't be straightening them so much.. basically she couldn't believe he was trying to stand up, he may need physical therapy... FOR WHAT!? The kid has been doing it for weeks and every dr has always commented on how strong he is.

I am am so annoyed! She's fresh out of college and clearly going by the books not real life experience.

I was wondering how normal it is to have an abnormal pap after a baby.. even if you have had a ceserean?? And if anyone's has been abnormal. I haven't gone yet, my appointment is in a couple of weeks but have been extremely anxious. Before I found out I was pregnant my pap was abnormal they called me back to do the next thing they do.. the more serious pap I can't think of the name of it but when I went in I requested a pregnancy test and it was positive. They performed another pap anyway and apparently it came back normal but I'm just kind of nervous about it I guess I'm hoping something was not missed or overlooked bc I ended up being pregnant.. any similar situations?

Anyone have a favorite pregnancy tracking app? There are so many in the App Store and it's hard to tell what is good and what is trash.

I'm looking for a simple "your baby is the size of a blueberry" type thing.

Do you ladies have any favorite tracking apps yet?
