I responded to your post below but I didn't know if you would see it so I am c/p it here

Hi

My wife and I are expecting our first in september. We did iui to concieve with anonomous donor sperm. We used Alternative Insemination of Greater Boston which is part of the midwives of mt auburn and located in Arlington. We were very happy with them. It took us 3 tries and we know a couple that it worked on the first try.

https://www.aicgb.com/info.html

On the insurance front. Things are a little different then the pp have said. It is true that there is mand coverage for infertility but if you are like us who had no diagnosed fertilty problems they do not cover until after 6 iuis. I spoke to both my insur. and my wife's as we would have changed if one was better. (harvard pilgrim and tufts) I was told that of course I would be covered but if I was doing iui with donor sperm they require a special review and I would have to provide a sperm sample from my husband to verify that the reason we were using donor sperm was medical and logistical. This is how they get around covering people with a blanket diagnosis of infertility. Also donor sperm and sperm storage is never covered.

Hope this helps

also over on the nest the same sex househould has a weekly ttc/pregnancy check in on wednesdays

I have no idea what to choose:

RSC: recommended to me by Mt Auburn where I've gotten initial bloodwork done. Great reputation, mildly inconvenient.

Boston IVF: preferred by my PCP, who matters b/c of my HMO but hasn't seen me for anything related to my ill-fated pg a year ago or anything since. Great rep, somewhat more convenient. Like they have the whole mind/body center they have.

MGH: Most convienant of the bunch.

Thanks in advance!

I am so disappointed that none of the peds I call see you prior to having baby. Is this the norm now? I am having twins in June & trying to decide whom to go w/ based off never meeting them. I live in Quincy, but will deliver at South Shore Hospital. Milton peds is close, but don't have privileges at SSH. I hear South Shore Medical is great, but in Norwell. Not sure if that is too far for a Ped. Anyone have any recs? Did anyone meet their ped first?

Hi Ladies!

I am looking for recs of a female OBGYN in the Woburn/Burlington area. I suppose she should be a high-risk Dr. , b/c a few weeks after the birth of my now baby, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Bedside manor and timely appts are HUGE pluses!!

I used to go to NWH, but cannot make the commute there several times a week to see the Dr. for all of the additional appts and tests that go along with being diabetic and pregnant.

Thanks you SO MUCH!
