I got mirena after I got the all clear. Loved it for the most part but was having some issues after a few months so had it removed. Now using the nuva ring. It's $50 for 1 month or $100 for 3... Well we aren't in the best financial spot right now and cutting everything we can. [wishing I kept mirena... Darn it, issues or not. They weren't that bad] but I'm terrified that the pill I'll forget or something and I'll end up pregnant. We also use condoms 95% of the time but he ALWAYS also pulls out. Which I know isn't totally full proof. But I figure with everything else it's better than nothing? Ugh. I just don't know what to do. Can't afford another baby. Can't afford the method of bc I choose. I also have bad migraines so I have to be careful which pill I take. Anyone LOVE their pill?

I mentioned last week that I had a job interview yesterday. Well I was offered the position this afternoon. The salary and benefits package is fairly decent and if it is the "Best" they can provide I will accept.

However, I feel like people expect you to counter their original offer in some way so most do not offer the max they are willing to give off the bat. My husband on the other hand thinks they only expect you to negotiate if its an upper management position which it is not.

What says A12? Try to negoiate a slightly higher salary or just accept what was offered? I don't want to offend or come off as pushy because this really is an ideal position for me.

To clarify when doing research there is about a 20k range in salary for this position nationally depending on cost of living, education, and experience. We live in a low cost of living area. But I have a Masters and am on the higher end of the experience range. They are offering at the plus 7k area of the range. I think I should be at the plus 10k range so I thought I would counter at the plus 13k range and hope they split the
difference. What do you all think?

Update: I ended up only being able to squeeze another 2k out of them BUT they did write into the contract that I would get a guaranteed 15% bump in salary upon completion of my registration exams. (There are 7 and I have 2 left) so I am pretty happy with the outcome!

I thought the doctor was going to die. It is so embarrassing.

I've had DH apologize to DS and say, it was wrong of daddy to say, it is a very bad word. One is a batman.
9:41 a.m. — A River Street resident let a homeless couple into his home

leave. They stole an Xbox.
10:42 a.m. — At the Washington Street Shell, four gentlemen surround a
Dodge pickup and yell at a lady. They manage to retrieve an Xbox that
was concealed on her person. A fifth gentleman takes off into the woods.
4:04 p.m. — A fight brews on Warren Street. “People are yelling about drugs and pregnant people.”
9:35 a.m. — On Portland Street a woman paid a man to do some plumbing,
but rather rash, advanced him cash. The plumbing? He ain’t coming.
7:06 p.m. — On the Common two men sit beneath a tree where it’s unlit.

I went to hand them to the mom so she could monitor them, but she said to just give them to DD because she could care less if they spill all over Target, and that is exactly what happened. Walking behind her, I heard a crunch under my feet and they we're all over the carpet. I was embarrassed, but didn't want to make a scene or "undermine" her by picking them up. I, personally, do not think that is acceptable... Especially at restaurants, I pick up our mess. What do you do? Am I being anal?

There's a pitbull at the local shelter who has been there far too long. He's going "kennel crazy" - losing weight, circling the kennel, etc. He's such a sweet boy and good with all animals. He thinks he's a lap dog and is super mellow.

I posted his picture and info on Craigslist in the pets section because I've had good luck getting the shelter more exposure there.

Well, I just got an email from a guy that said "Gas that fucking useless pitbull."

I am seriously at the end of my rope. DD will not go to sleep on her own anymore. I have no idea what else to try. She screams, not just cries, but screams when I leave the room. She had an ear infection a couple weeks ago so I held her more than normal for a few days (sometimes rocking her to sleep or holding her for naps), but I don't see how that could've thrown things this far off. I guess I'm bad at cry it out because I never make it past 30-40 minutes because she's screamed until her voice is gone by then and I feel like I have to do something. She has dropped down to one nap, I don't know if it's because she was really ready for that or I just couldn't deal with the screaming twice a day. She does the same thing at bedtime. I have no idea if this is related either, but she's had more sleeping issues since DH came home about 2 months ago (he was gone for about 5 months). I'll take any suggestions at this point. I can't deal with the nap/bedtime battle anymore, I feel like I'm about to go insane and it makes me want to just let her play until she passes out from being so tired. Oh and our routine didn't change other than the few days of ear infection. Brush teeth, read a book, sing a few songs, and put her down sleepy but awake.

Sorry if this already been discussed. I've been MIA .since being furloughed (dd has been keeping me busy!)

Anyway I wasn't planning on carving pumkpins this year. But we are still going to the pumpkin patch to get pumpkins.

I got a pie pumpkin at the grocery store that I planned to cube and cook for finger food for dd. I'll freeze the rest to thaw out for other meals.

But I was wondering two things.

First does anyone know a way to cook the seeds in a way that's safe for our LOs to eat? I don't think it would be safe but maybe there is a cooking method that could work?

And second, has amyone let their LOs play with the pumpkin "guts" yet. I thought it might be a fun tactile activity. But I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into! Lol!

TIA

I don't know. And I don't really want to ask Dr. Google.

If anyone is looking to get a 2nd car seat, the Chicco NextFit Convertible is on sale at Target.com right now and the total price is $202.29! For some reason there are 2 15% off discounts applied. Free shipping and no tax (at least in my state). One of the discounts is through 10/19 only.

We already had one NextFit and love it, and my mom has the Britax Roundabout (which is just okay), but we needed a seat for my car, and I was reluctant to spend list price on a 2nd one. This is an amazing deal!
DS has been so constipated this week. Sunday he was screaming and his whole body was rigid due to the discomfort. We did prune juice and milk of magnesia. He ended up getting relief later that day. I've kept giving him prune juice every day this week but this morning he was laying I the floor on his belly with his whole body straight and rigid again crying:( I have him more prune juice and milk of magnesia. The sitter said he was laying in the floor crying. She gave him some mineral oil and he went. She said he is playing right now.

Any ideas as to what's going on? He eats mostly fruit because he's so picky. He eats yogurt, pumpkin bread, advacado, cheese, deli meat, noodles, and am and cheese. He hasn't had many bananas lately or Mac and cheese so I'm confused. He loves canteloup and peaches and eats those daily. Any ideas as to what I can change in his diet?

I will ask the doctor at his 15 month appointment in a couple weeks but goodness it's awful to see him in such pain.

Her flu shot last year was combined with her 6 month vaccinations, so the vomiting she experienced the night of the vaccinations could have been from any of them. She did not get the booster as her Pediatrician ran out. How did your child react this year?

What kind of boots did you get for your LO for fall/winter? Rain? Snow? Fashion? Anyone find boots that tick more than one box?

Its was super rainy last weekend so we skipped the pumpkin patch. Hopefully it will be dry enough this weekend to go.

Anyway I started to think I'd get dd a pair of rain boot ... but so far
I've been unable to find them in her size (4). But not sure if they'll get used enough to justify buying them.

But with winter coming I got a cheap snow suit - pants and jacket. Super cheap - $6 new after sales, coupons, etc. So I was thinking of getting her boots she could wear in the snow too. She'll wear the jacket all winter but again I'm not sure I can justify buying snow boots that she may only wear 1-2 times.

I'm in southern PA / MD so the weather is pretty hit or miss. Some winters we only get 1-2 small snows and other winters we get tons.

I'd like to get her a pair of fashion boots for the fall ... but she really doesn't need 3 pairs of boot! Lol!

Flying with a toddler...
Is hell, ladies. Total hell.

Bonjour! H, DD and I went on vacation for a week! Got back yesterday afternoon. We flew from CA to NJ and stayed two nights with my in-laws. Then DD stayed there with her grandparents (!!!!) while H and I went on to meet friends in Montreal.

Things that are glorious:
1. Traveling just with adults
2. CANADA!
3. Adult vacation time. It was our first nights away from DD and it went fine. I love staying in bed all night.

Then DD spent the whole 6hr plane ride yesterday clinging to me, trying to throw her food on the floor, and doing acrobatics across our laps. Oh, and screeching.

We are STAYING HOME for Christmas. I am the decider and I have spoken.

Wednesday random done. How you doing?

Another week, another product!

Today's Item: The Clapper

Did you share a room with a sibling and fight every night about who would turn off the light because the switch was across the room? Did you cave every time because you need it dark to sleep and your annoying sister could sleep through a solar flare? Do you find yourself having the same argument with your hubs and wish for a magic wand to flick off the damn lamp with zero effort and gloat, hahaha take that motherfuckaa!?! Well the Clapper is for you. Or is it? At first the novelty is fun. You each will want to be the first to do it, so you'll have a clapping war. Then you figure out the Clapper is fickle. Sometimes you need to clap twice slow, later twice fast, and sometimes 3 times in case you clap wrong. How do you clap wrong, you ask? It must be loud. Loud enough that your palms sting from trying different clap sequences and heaven forbid you have guests that hear the cacophony from your room and think you are crazy...or spanking each other in there when you really just want to sleep already. And you finally walk over to the lamp and turn it off. Or get really smart and buy bedside table lamps. Problem solved!

Verdict: fuck you Clapper!

Any clapper fans? What's your favorite convenience item?
