I just had my 2nd interview with a company this morning, and they called at 5 to offer me the job (which I will take). I start November 6.

Sucky timing though. I have an ultrasound on October 31st, and I'm 100% sure there will be no heartbeat. Measured way behind and heartrate under 100 at our first ultrasound last week. (And I am sure on my dates. I know for sure my ovulation date and when I got BFP, it is impossible.)

I was thinking of taking off Nov 4-8 to deal with everything, but that's not a possibility now.

I guess I should opt for the D&C as soon as possible (Oct 31 or Nov 1 if I can). I don't know if I do the medicine route if it will be done in time. If I don't start m/c-ing before my appt. I really wish I wasn't dealing with this all at once. I wish I wasn't having to deal with it at all. But I really don't want to be bleeding the first week at my new job.

I guess the silver lining is maybe the new job will help distract me.

We went back to the children's hospital for another fetal echo today, and our baby was diagnosed with heart defects. It is likely Tetralogy of Fallot (Amaite, I would definitely like to write/speak to you about your experience). A lot can happen between now and the end of the pregnancy (none of which I can influence with my behavior, I'm told), so the severity is unknown, but baby will likely need open heart surgery by 6 months. Now that we've had two babies with major heart issues, it's definitely genetic. I am so grateful for my healthy daughter right now and hoping that we end up with the best case scenario with this baby (a boy) and that he can have a full repair and is able to lead a normal life. Thanks again ladies for your support.

Also, advice. We aren't super close and I'm not really sure how to be supportive. What I should say or do, etc. My mom and younger sis are headed over this afternoon. I'm leaving work early to pick up D but I'm not sure if I should go to or if that will to overwhelming. What say you?

I'm not telling my family (other than DH, of course) about this because I don't want them to worry yet...but I'm really worried. I'm 25 weeks pregnant today and had a perinatology growth scan because I have an abnormal cord insertion (velamentous). Baby looks fine in terms of growth and is measuring in the 76th percentile.

Now onto the scary part. A bit of background - at the anatomy scan with our first pregnancy in 2010, the perinatologists detected complex cardiac anomalies. They made it very clear at the time how serious they were. We had a series of follow-up visits with cardiac experts, all of whom told us that our baby would not survive long after birth, even with any amount of surgery, and we made the very difficult decision to end the pregnancy at 21 weeks rather than put the baby through any pain after birth. Since that time, we have had a healthy daughter with no known cardiac issues. With this pregnancy, the baby's heart looked normal at our anatomy scan at 18 weeks, and also looked normal at our fetal echocardiogram at the children's hospital at 20 weeks.

So at today's appointment, I noticed that the U/S tech was suddenly focusing a lot of attention on the baby's heart, and his demeanor changed a little bit. Given that I wasn't there to look at the heart, it was strange, so I asked him about it, and he said there was one thing that looked strange - the aortic artery is larger than the pulmonary artery, when it should be the other way around, or the same size. He brought in the perinatologist, who is a cardiac sonography expert (we know her from our first pregnancy). She had him test a whole bunch of other heart-related stuff, which all looked normal, but agreed that the aortic artery was larger than the pulmonary artery, and that was abnormal. She has the pediatric cardiologist who did our fetal echo at the children's hospital on speed dial, so she called her and asked her to get us in ASAP for a follow-up. She didn't want to provide any info on outcomes until we have more info.

According to Dr. Google, an aortic artery larger than a pulmonary artery is a strong indicator of congenital heart disease. It seems like it would strange to have this particular abnormality, however, without any other associated abnormalities. So we are crossing our fingers that it was just a strange view or something.

It's so strange that without the other reason for having an ultrasound today, I would be blissfully ignorant. At least if it is an indicator of a problem, we will know in advance and can deliver someplace where they can care for the baby's issues right away. Ugh, not what I was expecting as a result of today's appointment. Thanks for reading all of this!

This is a new territory for me ... I never had to worry about this stuff while BFing. And because WCM is pasterized I don't feel like I need to be as uber conservative as I was with BM in bottles (I'd always toss unused milk, etc).

1. Do you use the same sippy cup throughout the day and just refill it as needed? I'm still BFing (before and after work and at bedtime). But I've been offering her sippys when we're together too, and she gets them at the sitters. Whatever she doesn't finish I've been putting back in the fridge and refilling as needed. Its never left out very long. So I don't think its a big deal. And I dump whatever is left over at the end of the day.

2. When you're out running errands and you think you might be out of the house when your LO would get thier milk ... are you taking sippys with you? Do you put them in a cooler bag?

So DD is usually more clingy to me during certain times of the day. Like bedtime, she wants me close by even though DH is getting her ready for bed, etc. I've always just thought it was because I BF before bed, and she was eager for it, and/or was worried if I left the room she wouldn't get to BF. So I would usually stay close by.

DH understood that, and tried to not let it bother him.

But for the past week or so, its gotten really bad. I mean really bad! She'll ask for "dada" all day. She'll look for him in the bedroom, etc. She'll get excited when she hears the garage door open. She's excited when she sees him walk through the door. BUT ... as soon as he approaches her, she flips out!

I've been feeding DD dinner before DH gets home, so when he gets home she's almost done dinner. He'll walk over to give her a kiss, and she screams and bats her arms all around. He'll sit down at the table across from her, and she'll make a kiss face at him. So, he'll get up and go to give her a kiss and she just screams and waves her arms. This will cycle a few times. She's giving very mixed signals. I figured maybe she was trying to do the "all done" sign, so I clean her off and take her out of the highchair. But even then she'll want me to hold her, and not DH. She'll turn away from DH.

Then its bath time. Usually DH takes her up for the bath while I clean up her dinner mess. But recently she flips out if I don't go upstairs with them - arching back, screaming, etc. At first I would go up with them and still let DH undress her, etc. And she was fine. But after a few days of that, now she refuses to let DH undress her, and I have to do it. Same for bath time. I would just sit in there and keep them company while DH bathed her, but last night she started flipping out because I wasn't bathing her (and she LOVES baths). So I ended up just doing most of it.

DH's feeling are super hurt by this. At first he was just annoyed that I was "hovering", but now feels like DD "hates" him and DD won't let him do anything.

And I realized last night that I've probably made the situation worse - by keeping them company in the bath or just being in the same room while he gets her ready for bed. Honestly I thought I was helping distract her. But really she was working her cute toddler manipulation ... fuss to keep mommy in the room ... then fuss until mommy just takes over!

Not only that BUT I've been home with her now for almost 3 weeks (because I was furloughed due to the government shutdown) ... so I'm wondering if that has caused her to be more clingy to me? Or maybe she's going through a clingy stage? She goes back to the sitter's next week, so I'm hoping that will help things a little. And I'm hoping it doesn't make it worse - worried that she might get more clingy to me because she "got used" to being home with me.

Every Monday is Daddy / Daughter day (because I'm at work and DH has off). Since I've been off they haven't had their time. So as much as I don't want to go back to work, I'm hoping their Monday's together will help.

Anyone else deal with this? Suggestions?

I don't starve myself or anything; I just feel super guilty if I go a whole day without working out. On a related note, is it healthy to step on the scale everyday?

Hi all- are you still using monitors? Recently their video monitor broke. Since it broke I've actually slept better bc I'm not staring at it for every sound. My twins sleep in separate rooms upstairs and we sleep downstairs. I can hear them as we don't live in a mansion. The monitor is under warranty so BRU sent us the gift card to replace it. I'm really debating do we need it now at this stage bc I do sleep better or would you recommend us replacing it as they head towards 2 years old? Thoughts?

Another week but random day because I do what I want!

Today's item(s): Cami secret and Strap Perfect

Perhaps you find people struggle to make eye contact due to your heaving bosoms...and then you turn around and your over the shoulder boulder holder straps are showing. For shame! Offending people coming and going, what's a boobalicious girl to do? Cover that shit up, that's what. Cami Secret snaps around your bra straps in front, preventing pervy bosses from gaping at your poorly chosen v-neck shirt from Elvira R Us. A fake undershirt basically, for the layering challenged. But wait there's more! Strap Perfect clips to your bra in back, keeping those tacky straps from playing peek a boo and advertising that you have boobs and wear a bra. Ok, maybe they are on to something with this one. If you don't mind a slight hump on your back, and have limber arm joints to attach it, the thing does work. But with this much hardware stuck to your upper body, you will hate being a girl.

Verdict: Get a real cami. Trap your straps if you want. Just pamper your boobs.

Soooo, I don't usually rock the low cut shirts but my sis thought I could use modesty panels for Christmas anyway. I'm not a nun so Cami Secret is at the bottom of my bra drawer. I bought the Strap Perfect for myself; it's cheaper than a convertible bra contraption from VS. I use it a lot in the summer with tanks.

What's your glamour secret weapon??

All the while we tried to ice it as much as we could. So I think he's fine but anyone want to take bets on how many times I'm going to check on him tonight?

Reassurance please!

I've been around since December 2011 even though I was a dirty lurker most of the time. I posted rarely most because my old phone didn't let me post and I'm never on a computer (thus all the typos!). But I was thinking about old bump memories and then I saw the post about words that stuck from other bumpies. So, what fond or not-so-fond memories do you have?

Mine are mostly drama related like the teen mom on the board and the book exchange drama and the corporal punishment debates, and all the outlash at k3pink early on and then respect that she at least stands her ground and takes the comments and keeps coming back.

I also remember the one poster who had her baby first and rather premature (was it May?). And then all the other births, mucus plug posts, newborn posts, CIO posts, etc.

Anyone else care to share?

Problem is, I should be 7.5 weeks. I know when I ovulated because I was using OPKs and doing a half-hearted attempt at charting. ( https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/370c26 ). There's no way I'm only 6 weeks, I got the positive test September 19.

I go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound. From what I've been reading online, it seems a 50-50 chance.

At first I thought it was an indention from his socks (thats what it looks like) but it's not and it's been about two weeks since I first noticed it.
